In perhaps the greatest irony in American history an individual who, because of numerous long-term subversive associations and admitted heavy drug use, could NOT pass a basic FBI background check for an initial security clearance, is considered to be a serious contender for the Presidency of the United States! How is it possible that a man who is widely recognized as the least experienced; and, most radical far-left extremist ever nominated by a major political party could beguile so many simply because he's a SLICK TALKER? In perhaps the ONLY forthright moment of his extended campaign, Obama, while being interviewed on ABC, lamented the dispersions frequently cast against: "MY MUSLIM FAITH". The ascendancy of this charlatan to the Presidency would unquestionably mark the portending demise of our Constitutional Republic that so many have shed their precious blood to nurture and preserve. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Barack Hussein Obama, despite his attempted move to the "right" side of this issue, is not a Second Amendment supporter. All Liberal candidates, after securing the win in their primaries by appeasing their Leftist base, move rightwards to attract the undecideds, the young "no nothing" voters, and those simply influenced by style over substance.

The American Hunters and Shooters Association is a left wing B.S. group that was created to fool gullible gun owners into abandonning the NRA. It didn't work. NRA endorsement = VICTORY. Obama, how's that Berg lawsuit working out for ya?

Hey, what the h*ll. We will all need guns if the nazi-like team of McCain and Palin get in. They will march on every organization that disagrees with their religion, lifestyles, and politics, terminating their rights and freedoms. We will need to protect oursselves when they try to throw us in camps or when these war mongers have turned the rest of the world against us. (Thank you "w" for setting the path). Think Palin can teach us the goose-step or just how to murder one? There will be tv specials showing graphics of defenseless animals dying after being shot and left to rot with scavangers picking at their eyes and innerds. On a serious note, this article is Bull Sh*t.It was like Dobson coming out supporting McCain admittedly because of Palin's favorable, to him, discriminatory religious and anti-gay positions. Ya know maybe they will close all businesses on Sundays too and return to blue laws. The opening day of hunting season will become a national holiday along with the days of the Stanley cup finals. This election is becoming more of a joke every day. I would vote for Paris Hilton/Sheen ticket over the M&M (Maverick and MILF)team. They are more credible, honorable and make more sense.

Why is it that left wingers think anyone in the NRA is a "nazi?" Are you all brainwashed or just legitimately ignorant of what the NRA stands for or what the nazi movement was? Examine the political philosophy of Hitler and compare it to the modern Democrat Party, if you dare. Words mean things, and the only group in America today that works to preserve our constitutional rights is the NRA.

TyinPS: It's people like "YOU", that give people like "ME" a reason for having a "Handgun Carry Permit". Isn't it wonderfull to live in a country that gives every citizen the right to act as utterly stupid as you do ? God bless America!!!HW

Guns don't kill people, but an Obama presidency will.

SDindependent: There you go again. Keep backing those left wing loonies like Nobama and one day those guns, you say have, will be confiscated. The Second Ammendnent protects us from an abusive government. That my friend is why the left wing loons want to take your guns. Check your history and every dictators first move is to disarm the citizentry. If that suits you support Nobama and the liberal Dems.

By the way, you libs: NAZI is short for National Socialist. You ignoramuses (ignorami?) don't realize that NAZIs and Commmunists are flip sides of the same coin. Except today we call them Democrats.

Ooh, everyone play a violin for poor TyinPS: Gov. Palin shot Bambi! All together now: POOOR BAABY! TyinPS thinks it is much more humane to have deer starving to death in the woods and crippled by auto traffic than put down in seconds by a bullet or arrow. No, but Mother Nature does it better: A pack of wolves rip the entrails out of a fleeing deer and begin to eat it while it is still screaming and kicking. Oh, Yeah; your way is MUCH BETTER. Wake up and get a clue; hunters finance more conservation than all your tree-hugging ELF-loving groups combined.

The notion that the Constitution forbids gun control is utter nonsense in my opinion. If the state can license automobile drivers in the interest of public safety, it can license gun owners for the exact same reason. It's called common sense.

ScottVA: I applaud a conservative who makes international and historical comparisons, but don't read too much into names of political parties: 1. Australia's "Liberal Party": is the conservative party 2. Austria's "Liberal Forum": ditto - conservative/libertarian 3. Sweden's "Liberal People's Party": conservative/libertarian - motto: "social responsibility without socialism." We both realize this list would be long, so I'll leave it there. And as an aside on the Nazi comment, my sense is that Hitler would have a serious problem with a black President and equal rights for gays - both things that Dems promote, among other liberal goals...

Proud Gun owner. Proud NRA member ! Obama is closer to putting you in jail for making a profit than he is to allowing you to own a handgun. Watch your back SD, cause after Obama comes for us, he'll come for you. That's a lock ..... and load.

There are over 100 million gun owners in America. Only 4 million of them are NRA members. Party line gun ownership is probably right down the middle -- lostsa Dems hunt, need protection and sport shoot -- I'd say Independents make up a majority of gun owners. An NRA endorsement is nice and that's McCain gets - a nice endorsement that won't even move the polls.

If animals do what they do in the wild, including killing to eat, then that is nature. So, if you walk up to a moose and put a bullet between it's eyes, then rip it's head off and set it over your mantle then that's more appropriate...hmmmmm. Lots of you are probably also religious. Wonder what your maker will say when you meet him at the other end of this life and address killing for fun. Then who will be taking the bullet? and..who really cares that the NRA supports McSame. So does Dobson. That's nothing to be proud of either way, and certainly not a vote draw for heavy populated metropolitan areas where gun ownership is considered quirky and dangerous and associated (inappropriatey)with the criminal element. Would anyone think that the NRA would support anyone other than the gun-toting Palin? Duh. It would be like people being surprised that the NAACP supports Obama. Let's focus on the real issue..our economy in the toilet because Bush was too distracted with his own prurient interests and lack of safeguards to prevent this second crash in history when all the signs were there. Up to a month ago he claimed the economy was in fine shape...Maybe he should go hunting with Chaney. Maybe Cheneys aim might help this crisis.
