Way to go! This is what public school parents across the country care about! How not to waste another hour focused on inane elite goals for kids that are actually in public schools. Is Bill Ayers kids actually in public schools? Of course not! Insulated in their own version of parent choice. People that actually believe in public schools won't take elite engineering of the masses. Leave us alone..Bill Ayers! Go find your own space. Our kids actually deserve to learn about math and science and good grammar. Shove off, big boy! Take care of your own kids! LOL. Mama bear!

Bill Ayers has found his own space. His chose to convert is outright conventional war on America by bombing and terror into terrorizing America's spirit, America's value system by inculcating youth with anti-Americanism. It is beginning to become clear that Ayers is Obama's secret mentor. That at all cost must remain Obama's secret and accounts for Obama twisting the political dialog. A simple public quest for simple facts has been turned around. To ask a simple question is in this election simply going negative according to Obama and his handlers. Why is that? Since the answer means going negative we are supposed to drop it! I am against Obama becoming president. Will there be even one American general in the Defense Department that will follow Obama's order once he - Obama - is president? American generals have "passed" the loyalty to America test by being subjected to various background investigation that include what sort of affiliations with anti-America organization that they have had, if any; but Obama has not! What says the FBI?

“Social justice” has nothing to do with either true justice or with being a kind and moral human being. The term is an open door to socialist agendas. Dr. Balint Vazsonyi searched in vain for a definition, but it is a concept impossible to define. Yet we are basing policies and large expenditures on this “idea”, which thrives by defining its opponents as mean and biased people. The murkiness of the term is just fine with its proponents, because “social justice” programs only thrive if their true agendas remain hidden. Equal outcome can only be achieved by penalizing achievement and rewarding non-achievement. This is why our school systems are failing...Curriculum's are being targeted to the lowest level. High Achievers are being ignored and held back...if they act up against the restrictions or because they are bored they are punished and drugged as "unable to concentrate".

Lets see it is okay to establish Muslim schools or Gay schools. - but don't you DARE give one cent to any student who chooses to go to a Christian school - This is blatant discrimination against religion and in violation of the constitution. ACLU where are you?

(You HOPE that home schooling will not be made impossible by the regime CHANGE that a President Obama ushers into American life. Consider Germany's politically correct response to home schooling: children removed from their parents. In President Obama's regime "home schooling" is so "code word" for non-collectivist, that we have to remove the children from the brainwashing and anti-collectivist indoctrination being instilled by the parents. This is for the children's best interests as determined by the People's Central Education Committee. Must separate politics from indoctrination, I mean education.)

So now Obama wants to make social security into just another welfare program. The government forcibly takes my money that I could put into a 401k and instead puts it into social security. But that's not enough, now I get to help finance someone else's retirement too. I already get to finance other people's share of the cost of our government. Just how is this "fair"? In particular, when we are told year in and year out that Social Security is going broke and that it has tens of trillions of unfunded benefits promised, Obama wants to take even more money from the system. How stupid is that? My social security statement this year, and yours too, already contains a note saying that the system will only be able to pay about 70% of the promised benefit. Of course those of us old enough to remember, or smart enough to know what is happening, realize that social security was "saved" in the '80s by having us pay "extra" money every month that would go into the trust fund. Now I find I get to pay extra money every month so Obama can give it away to help buy votes. And of course there is not a single one of my dollars in the trust fund as Congress has spent every single dime paid into it. Even after the recent stock market drop, my 401k has more real assets than the entire trust fund! And I won't have to tax someone else in order to convert the assets to income. But don't worry, I'm sure that Obama and Democrats will soon want to "fix" social security again. But I will be like, "You fixed it for me before and I have yet to get a single SS dollar out of the system and now it's broke again?" By the way, does anyone else ever notice that the more skewed our tax system is to soaking the rich, that when the economy slows down the deficits explode more than they ever have? When 40% pay no taxes, that is what happens. If Obama wanted to truely be fair, everyone would pay something. Instead of "us" against "them", we would all be in this together.

I am saddened that this is necessary but it is. Teachers are not teaching basic respect in schools and the parents are not stepping up to bat with the needed parental guidance either. I would like to think this is a short term need but since nobody is stepping up with the needed leadership this idea of creating a separate school for gay children is really needed if gay children are not going to be scared for life because of insensitivity of other children. If everybody had done their job over the years this shouldn't be necessary but it is. Shame on Parents, shame on Teachers & administrators for letting gay bashing and bullying go on for so long in the public school system.

For those, like the poster below, who seemingly feel comfortable with our Federal govt's. over-involved early social-engineering of our children, I ask you this: Can the govt handle anything correctly? You really trust the govt. to decide what's best. Because of where Obama sends his own kids (A John Dewey-philosophy based school in Chicago), I have concerns about his jargon filled education bill s. 2111. I can hardly understand the double-speak. But I know this, if he respects John Dewey's ideas on social outcomes, parents need to know. I, on a friend's recommendation, sent my child to a charter school that was based on John Dewey's philosophies, and yanked my daughter out after just a few months - which was too long. The kids were taught nothing, allowed to grade themselves, and were taught competition was bad. I could go on, but it was a little microcosm of the adults idea of a socialistic society. The kids were out of control. I pulled my daughter out thinking that it was simply one out-of-control school, and then I read about John Dewey's ideas on social outcomes and realized the teachers and directors were acting purposefully.

Avril, I find it amusing that you feel discomfited by Obama's education legislation not because of its content, but because you don't understand it. But of course you would feel threatened by John Dewey's teachings. If schools were to seriously attempt to teach students "to cultivate deep-seated and effective habits of discriminating tested beliefs from mere assertions, guesses and opinions," as Dewey suggested in "How We Think," then where would the next generation of Republicans come from?

Ah, nitpicker, but you are soooo much wiser than I, aren't you? How typical you are in your condescending tone. My point was the double-speak jargon (typical with corporations, boring text books, propaganda) is meant to be confusing. No need to alert parents that there's an ulterior motive in the bill, right? I suspect you are one of the brain-washed zealots believing you know better than the parent how a child should be educated. So I am not to believe my own experiences? But I am to suspend thought and give my brain over to the "experts" the humanist/socialist John Dewey's and the zombie followers of his philosophies. I love that some antiquated dude's ideas that are considered "progressive." How truly Orwellian.
