re: implications that he (Obama) has so far gained every office he has sought by underhanded and sordid means - while posing as a Gary Cooper. Honestly, Tony, how do you think GW Bush gained office? Does South Carolina or Ohio sound familiar?

This article is a totally irresponsible smear. You relate how Obama benefited from his opponents' problems in previous political campaigns, which is true enough, but then you ask "Was Mr. Obama really the innocent beneficiary of these rare events?" What exactly are you suggesting? Did Obama somehow make his opponents get divorced? Did Obama force Jack Ryan try to get his wife to go to sex clubs? I don't think so. Your suggestion is so ridiculous you don't even answer your own question.

JHM...buy a clue. The Divorce decrees were sealed and the documents were not made for general consumption....yet some how one "leaked" the documents to the media. Not once but twice. Keep repeating the moveon.org talking points.

I'd add another paragraph: If Obama wins (read steals) the presidency, as Senator McCain has done in the past when democrats rejected fixing in advance Fanny and Freddi, Senator McCain can come back to the microphone and say "I told you so" as the country bemons and regets putting an incompetent, revolutionary, puppet in the White House.

Flash: Op-Eds are not reporting. Author is not a reporter. Want good reporting? Go to where you'll be happy - moveon.org. You'll get good reporting there, yep.

Nothing would please me more than to have McCain attack Obama in tonight's debate for corrupt election practices on the basis of precisely the evidence presented in Mr Blankley's column. "Pregnant with implications" is truly a ringing phrase. But then, I am not a McCain supporter.

It seems that the point the author is trying to make is that there really hasn't been the level of scrutiny applied to BO's (or JM's for that matter) candidacy by the major media outlets as is expected in a presidential race. Remember all of the fury around GB's DWI, military service, grades in graduate school. etc that were weekly fodder in 2000 and 2004? Frankly, IMHO I think that all of this political background "reporting" is really missing what the American public needs and is not getting; that is specific independent analysis of the proposals from each candidate and the potential impact on our economy and way of life. But I sadly suspect that we are way too far down the road of "the ends justifies the means" to ever see candidates stop "hiding the ball" until they get elected. RIP, transparency in presidential campaigns.

look you throw Bush under the bus to facilitate conviently critizising for not printing the trash you want to slide into main stream. Note to self Palin was a bad choice and insulted the American People. We have the biggest crisis on earth in the economic field and a couple of wars going on. Then she slides out of an egloo with her trooper gate. Three words for Mr Mc Cain DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY. Old soldiers never die the simply fade away. Gen Mc Authur.

MG: did you just try to say something intelligent? Try again. Leadership skills are not "honed at the Naval Academy". I know: I went there. I served in the Navy for 14 years. I now teach there. What are your credentials? You would rather a president not "pattern decisions on past outcomes", i.e.: let's just forget what history and human experience has shown. That is called "putting your head in the sand". And as far as considering "environmental factors that impact contemporary problems" ... save my wristwatch: the BS is getting deep. The rest of your post - send it to Hallmark. It may turn up on a greeting card.

Boy, the Obama normalizers are out in force on this one. It must have touched a sensitive spot. Tony forgot to mention that Obama's integrity has been based on distancing himself from Wright, Farrakhan, Rezko, Ayers and now ACORN. The mainstream media has taken it upon themselves to normalize these guys. What will be interesting is to see how he treats them after the election.

Lack of interest in the facts? What are you smoking over there? Americans have educated themselves over the past 8 years and they figured out that it aint workin and you know it! So now that McCain is loosing you are going to use some kinda reverse psychology by telling us we basically dont know the facts. You are very funny my friend.

White House officials and Senate Democrats met in private three times last week to craft health care legislation. Do you think these discussions should be more public?
