Doesn't surprize me - bookies, radical politicians, Muslim leaders, corrupt Congress, corrupt Wall Street,Racist religious leaders, ACORN...what other "up standing" type organization would Obama attract?

Heh-heh. The "hype" surrounding the polls -- which are, at best, highly dubious -- and the subsequent knee-jerk reactions we've seen this October, are a staggering example of "jumping the gun." "Jumping the shark" may be more apt -- especially if you apply it to the propagandist and manipulatory coverage put out by the washed-up mainstream media. The stupidity of "bookies" like this, and the arrogance of Obama and his leftist cronies and supporters, may collectively exceed the notoriety of the "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN!" headline.

These are the same bright Irish bookies, that had the Lisbon Treaty favored to be ratified by 10-1. They fell on their face then and they will do so again this time.

Must be a publicity stunt. There would be no other reason to do it. If McCain wins, what the chances of getting back any of that money. In the next three weeks, who know what might happen. Obama might dies in a plane crash or makes a major blunder? And, of course, there is the Bradley Effect. Even if Obama wins, the company has loss the free use of the money for about three weeks.

As an Irishman, I'm sad to read this crap. What's going to happen, Paddy, when McCain wins the election. You better find some rock to hide under when the Lads come to be paid. The "liberal" American is all but diverse. Trust me, when in a private booth, those lib's ain't gonna vote for the black guy. That's how open minded they are, and that's how McCain is going to win.

Although alcohol abuse and gambling are rarely exhibited on the Emerald Isle, that other endearing quality of the hot-blooded Irishman will probably be revealed and exacted upon Mrs. Paddy Power when Obama loses. Magically delicious!

"Before the payout, Sen. John McCain's odds of winning the presidency stood at 5-1, while Mr. Obama was a heavy favorite at 1-9. That means a $10 bet on the long-shot Republican could win $50; a $10 wager on the heavily favored Democrat will pocket just $1.10. " So if McCain collects a $10.00 tax we will get $50.00 back and if Obama collects a tax of $10.00 we will get $1.10 back. Am I understanding this correctly?

Ah, Paddy Power, dear boyos, eistigi liom, have you never heard of "Dewey Defeats Truman"? Don't be taking American politics so for granted, when anything can happen between now and the first Tuesday in November. (Also, Americans don't like voting for Socialists... spouting-off with all that "spread the wealth" business.) To all those who bet with bookies: Go gcuire Dia an t-ádh ort! Slán go fóill!

Can I get Ireland's largest bookmaker, Paddy Power, to start a line on the following wager: The Obama campaign funded PP's pre-payment. A very good investment, indeed.

Everyone better wake up how bad is it when Maureen Dowd writes this about Barack Obama. The New York Times:Where did Obama's money come from? By Maureen Dowd June 29, 2008 "The internet service providers (ISP) they were able to trace were from Saudi Arabia , Iran , and other Middle Eastern countries. One of the banks used for fund transfers was also located in Saudi Arabia". "Another concentrated group of donations was traced to a Chinese ISP with a similar pattern of limited credit card charges". "It became clear that these donations were very likely coming from sources other than American voters" IS IT RIGHT FOR FOREIGN COUNTRIES TO HAVE AN INVESTMENT IN WHO BECOMES OUR NEXT PRESIDENT? unquote For the entire article go to: http://sunspot.mercedsunstar.com/?q=node...

White House officials and Senate Democrats met in private three times last week to craft health care legislation. Do you think these discussions should be more public?
