The voter ire as this article describes should be less party affiliated and more positioned to install TERM LIMITS. The general public opinion is misreported many times as party change when the reality of the change needed is less party affiliation and less lobbyist affiliated contact. Change the representation and often enough to diminish lobbyist effect. Stuart Rothenberg and Miss Duffy need to give the public more credit and the politicians much less.

Polls are like the stock market. Short term fear decisions with the fear being created by the mainstream media. If the American people are convinced that the economic problems were created eight years ago, then they really should be looking at the Congress. The President only has approval of policies. The policies and oversight are developed and controlled by the Congress. That's why Fannie Mae was the first domino to fall, the government had the longest and most control over policies. Yet, we keep the same idiots that created and managed those policies in office (Barney Frank and Chris Dodd). If the mainstream media were really the watchdog of the government, they would have already analyzed the fact that the economic crisis is global and therefore linked to the globalization of the U.S. economic policies of the 1990's. If Bush is considered a unilateralist, how did his policies become so cooperatively embedded in the world? The root cause goes back to the dot com boom and the globalization of high risk economic policies of the Clinton Administration.

This Republican said eight years ago that George W. Bush was a light weight, indeed a dummy. I was dismayed that he was the party's nominee for president. So, I am not surprised that he has proven to be what I thought he was all along. Futhermore, the Republican party long ago ceased to be the party of limited government. They had the opportunity to streamline the government but only added to its bloat. Will there be a resurgance of republicanism? Not for at least eight years.

Just look and read the record of this Congress run by the majority Democrats..A do nothing House (Nancy Pelosi) and a do nothing Senate (Harry Reid)..Popularity 17%..If America doesn't wake up and vote these do nothing Democrats out as the majority party then, and only then,if Barack Hussein Obama is elected president, then watch out America..Socialism will run rapid throughout our once wonderful country..Let's get back to the days when Newt Gingrich was the Speaker of the House.. God Bless America.

My fear is that a Democratic Congress with even more members may not be a do nothing congress. When Congress acts, especially a democratic party congress, then freedom falters.

Myths created by the mass media are now paying off. The anti-war leadership in so-called journalism is now about to reap the harvest and cover their tracks when it comes to their let's lose the Iraq War song that they used to sing so gleefully throughout our land. I say myth because we actually won in Iraq. Bush managed to win the war despite hollaring, crying, hysterical opposition. Bush accomplished it despite the negativism about the war. You likely have already forgotten it. I think you forgot about it because Bush never did fight the opposition at the same shrill tenor it was dished on him. Bush reorganized our federal government. Most importantly, he via Rumsfeld reorganized U.S. strategy and fighting tactics tailoring the defense of the U.S. to this new threat to America and our way of life. Doing say ruffled many feathers and made him subtle back-stabing enemies. I trust the Bush administration based on my personal study of U.S. defense matters. And, to keep this short because I know talking like this is like Peesing against the wind, he did all of this without significantly distrubing our way of life. In my view, Congress has failed us and getting down to the nitty gritty, the moral decline throughout America is simply reflected in the behavior of the people occupying Congress, precisely Barney Frank, Todd, and all those elected, given our trust to oversee the Welfare driven antics of Fanny and Freddi Mortgage handlers. Yes, the president has remained upright and resolute in fulfilling his job description, but Congressmen/women and Senators and we the people have slipped quite a bit when it comes to doing our part. Bush never smacked back at his enemies the was Congressmen and Senators do, especially democrats. And that's my say in the matter.

1. Obama and Biden are the only presidential candidates whose character have never been questioned for illegal or unethical conduct. 2. McCain was one of the Keating-5. He was accused of corruption by the Senate Ethics Committee in Congress. He confessed to blocking bank regulators from checking on Charles H. Keating, Jr., which allowed him to cheat depositors out of $3 billion dollars, which the tax payers covered. Charles Keating got a 4 year sentence. McCain got a reprimand after he confessed to accepting over $100,000 dollars in bribes. 3. McCain was also involved in the Iran-Contra scandal, which against international law, traded hostages for missiles, which were later used to kill 300 young Americn soldiers with our own weapons. 4. Governor Sarah Palin was found guilty of abuse of power in her elected office in Alaska. Palin and her husband, Todd, and friends also, ignored Constitutional subpoenas. 5. Governor Palin and her husband, Todd, are also members and supporters of the AIP, the Alaska Independence Party, founded by Joe Vogler. Vogler’s and the Palins’ party believes in separating from the USA. This party is anti-Semitic and accepts funding from the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is supported by Russia. 6. Governor Palin, a religious fanatic, believes Alaska will host the Rapture, when Armageddon destroys civilization. Should she become President, she will have all nuclear weapons codes. 7. Russia can conveniently launch missiles over Alaska.

Whew, Katrina and Checknbalance are fully immersed in the lies of the Democrats. Leftist media stooges, it's pathetic. A true American respects the TRUTH, not media lies. Democrats created the economic problems we're seeing now. They had two years to do something about it, they haven't. Republicans have only been in charge of congress for 2 out of last 60 YEARS. There have been NO filibusters by Republicans since Dems are back in charge. Granted, the Republicans weren't able to do much when they were in charge - because of DEMOCRAT filibusters. Quit your lying Katrina. The country is now contemplating the election of a TRUE Socialist in Obama. If that happens, this country is doomed to become just another EU-style backwater. And it will be due to commies like the pro-Obama nutjobs on this thread.

Actually I'm more fed up with the incompetant Democratic majority in Congress who has done absolutly nothing except approve one of the biggest pork plans in history. Pelosi/Frank/Reid have a lot to explain with this current economic crisis.

If Liberals are so sure they are going to win then the best thing we can do is sit back and hold on. If they get total control let them sink themselves as they surely will. It will be very difficult on the American people especially thoes who did not vote for Commandant Obama. Liberals are licking their chops at the idea of coming after our paychecks our children and our very way of life! The Liberals(if they get control) will do everything they can to take our lives as we know it away from us and beat us down as much as they can. A misreable American is the only good American to these people; get ready for the worst 4 years of our lives... But out of all of this a change will come their hatred for America and their hatred of us will be their undoing. Maybe we need a reminder of how bad things can get if we don't pay attention to the facts and hold thoes who are truly responsilbe for what has happened to this country especially over the last 2 years accountable! Liberals have masterd the art of the lie and Republicans have held their head in the sand as to who these people really are. Now there is a great chance we could pay a heavy price for ignorance and stupidity! The America I love may be temporarily over in less than 3 weeks but here me Liberals it will not last; America will rise and your days of dictatorship will be numbered! Lee (proud American)

Katrina, You must be getting your information from the Daily Kos..As I said before,I and Senator McCain fought for people like you. Your hatred for this country is now showing..you are misinformed on many subjects pertaining to politics and I believe you are a socialist, awaiting the arrival of Obama the Messiah in the White House with his pals,Nancy and Harry. Our country will never be the same again if this happens.. God Bless America.

Why doesn't McCain wear a flag pin?? Or is he now so beholden to Joe Libermann he doesn't know which country he wants to be president of??

I do, in fact, blame the Republicans for breaking trust with American conservatism. President Bush, and the Neo-cons (pronounced RINOs) in congress his first six years, spent like drunken sailors (then hypocritically found their "faith" when Dems gained control). That, as well as this ill-informed and reckless bail-out have so disillusioned conservatives that we are only voting for McCain because the alternative is so much worse. Republicans DESERVE to lose because they have become virtually indistinguishable from Democrats. Now we will have to live through another socialist politburo until Americans remember how embarrassing it is to have a Democrat president. As with Jimmy Carter's miserable administration, we will have to take years to undo the mismanagement and socialism of the next two years (until we can put true conservatives in Congress). Michael Savage says he is starting a new party -- a conservative party -- I think I will join it.

BTW: get ready for the naturalization of every illegal alien now in our country. That is a 12-20 million person voting bloc for Democrats. Likewise, look for the enactment of the "Fairness" Doctrine to stifle free speech on the air. Finally, look for "election reform", which will effectively block all parties but the Dems from running successful campaigns. Stock up on ammo, because the only way we will get our country back will be to fight for it (as if Americans today had the character our founders had -- Ha!).

Hang on to your wallets boys, if the DEMs get both houses and the WH. It will be worse than the stockmarket. Let the give-aways begin...
