Folks, don't believe this twisted nonsense. For the real story of this discussion among constitutional scholars from someone who was there, see the Bloomberg.com report by a reporter who actually did his homework instead of parroting more lies from the McCain flaks:

Desperation wrapped in distortion, indeed!
Yellow journalism at it's finest. Well done, your Daddy taught you well Wesley.

I'm just thankful you didn't quote your Daddy:
When President Dwight Eisenhower sent Army troops to protect nine black teenagers attempting to integrate Little Rock Central High School in 1957, Pruden Sr. reportedly told an assembled mob, "That's what we gotta fight, n******, Communists and cops."
As evidenced by some of these posts, whatever truth comes out about their Obamessiah, they will dismiss it as lies - no matter how much evidence there is. It's a lot like being so blindly in love with someone that one refuses to believe there could be anything bad or negative about that person. He can do no wrong in their eyes. They've projected all their hopes and dreams on this guy, and "don't you dare say anything bad about him, or we'll call you all kinds of names, and mock you, and call you ignorant, bigoted, stupid and racist." Blah, blah, blah.... They' say it so often, it doesn't even mean anything anymore.
I, along with millions of other people who actually look at all the facts and use our brains to process them all the way through, am voting for the only candidates who I can trust. McCain/Palin 2008!!!
Only true surprise I find about American presidential elections this year is a vast majority of Obama supporters are adamantly bent on rendering America a pseudo Marxist nation. This call for rendering America a socialist welfare nation by Obama and his supporters, this truly does surprise me.
Quite ironic an American Indian, like me, an American Indian who has every right to "hate" America, is fighting to defend our Spirit of America, fighting to defend our American ideals, fighting to defend our founding principles of Freedom and Democracy.
Appears there is a Free Lunch in life, appears half or more of Americans expect a Free Lunch paid for by hard working successful Americans.
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! Give me all I want for free, I am an American! Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! I do not have to work for a living, I am an American!
Gimme my welfare check, Barack!
When I was born, my peoples, we Indians, were not granted American citizenship, were not granted a right to vote. We fought long and hard for citizenship and a right to vote. We won.
Today, Americans are fighting for welfare checks in their mailboxes.
I believe I will pack up my family, head back to our Indian lands, then lead a life of honest hard work, of independence and of pride.
Our family enjoys pride, we will never become welfare recipients; we always have and always will earn our lunch.
We are Americans, not Marxists.

To FadingFast---I just read your link--it did not disprove anything. It consists of truncated out of context quotes by Obama supporters. "Constitutional scholars," indeed, as if that means anything. Anybody can claim to be anything. Obama claimed in the referenced interview to be a constitutional law professor. That was not true, but that's a small item on his list of untruths.
To sunny:
"truncated, out of context quotes" sounds more like you're describing Pruden's article above than the Bloomberg piece, but I give you credit for at least reading it. Try this one on for size, but beware, it's lengthy, it's from Rolling Stone, and you won't like it at all:
http://www.rollingstone.com/news/coverstory/make_believe_maverick_the_real_john_mccain.
Interesting how you so readily accuse Obama of untruths when McCain's nose grows longer by the day. Senator McCain is not only a bald-faced liar, he is unfit by temperament to be President of this great nation. The last thing we need is to go from moron to maniac in the Oval Office.
If the American people are willing to accept Obama's statement with regard to redistribution of wealth and economic justice, then we are well on our way toward adding a "change" to the Constitution that was not intended. No where in the Constitution does it say the Supreme Court or any other branch has the authority to determine economic justice and wealth redistribution with regard to civil rights. In lower court cases, that is left to a jury of ones peers, NOT a small group of elitist social intellect politicians. What Obama's is referring to in his speech is economic reparations for civil rights. This is a referendum for the people not the liberal elite. If this power is turned over to the executive branch and legislative branches, (he agreed, the Supreme Court remained within the constraints of the Constitution) then there is an agenda to dismantle those constraints of the Constitution and transition the power to a socialist state. Socialist, because pure Marxism has always been corrupted into socialism. Our Republican form of government is not prepared for that transition because we don't have a strong third party. Therefore if a supermajority is dealt to the Democrats in conjunction with Obama's socialist agenda, they will impose legislation that will keep them in power and exclude all of other party's and indenture the tax payers to the social welfare system they create. The Clinton's have already accomplished the first step with Medicare. Try and get your Social Security benefits without signing up for Medicare. There is more of this type legislation to come.
Why work for a living?
McCain needs to put across that socialism does not work for those at the BOTTOM of the social pyramid - not Joe the Plumber but Joe's future staff who are now unemployed.
Socialism kills economic progress, and breeds profound corruption far beyond any Halliburton scandal leftists can imagine.
Socialist corruption is forcing 20 million Mexicans prefer to live as second-class citizens in America, rather than in Mexico - a rich country with great weather and plenty of oil.
Socialist health care tells patients to put up or shut up - if you are on Medicare and buy some of your own treatment, you lose Medicare coverage.
Unfortunately, McCain has never really wrestled with the invidious problems of European-style radical socialism backed by people like the sinister billionaire George Soros and the semi-educated narcissist Barack Obama.
I have learned one thing about the people who want Barak Obama for president the way the want their next breath. You can not discuss anything with them, they are totally illogical and anyone who dares disagree with their distorted views are called names, destroyed by the media (Joe the Plumber), and denegrated.
I stopped trying to discuss anything with them. I simply post my opinion or whatever facts I have on the topic and move on, refusing to read replies from them.
I agree with the American Indian's post. I do all I can to keep this country away from socialism. I thank God I have resources that will sustain me if I decide to stop working if Obama is elected. I do not intend to have money I have worked hard for redistributed. That alone would have changed my mind about voting for him if I was leaning that way, which I was not.
The problem with Obama's people is simple, they know the media has concocted scheme after scheme to get him elected. That house of cards might crumble by election day and they know it. They are terrified! With all the bashing from the media and left wing liberals, they might still lose. They know this is probably their last big opportunity to ruin the country.
P.S.: Why does nobody in this country look seriously at socialist reality ACTUALLY practiced in various ADVANCED countries - Sweden, Canada, UK, even Japan in many ways.
Ask yourself this - if the wife of an American billionaire gets seriously sick, will she seek treatment in (A) Cuba; (B) Canada; (C) Venezuela; or (D) the U.S.?
What if the situation is reversed - would Hugo Chavez's mistress seek cancer treatment in Cuba or Miami?
America's health delivery system could be vastly improved by introducing MORE market-based competition, and cutting out most government regulation and red tape.
is obama-(peace be upon him-i still want to see him walk on water)-a socialist
or a marxist...dos'nt matter! the question should be...will the leftist in
this country be allowed to succeed with
a bloodless coup? or will the federal republic of the united states of america
be preserved for future generations...
that's the question!
Blah, Blah, Blah.
Americans still don't want another
Republican president..
Barry IS a marxist! (and always has been) I can tell that by his alliances with Bill Ayres, Bernadine Dorn, Rev. Wright, Fr. Pflagger, Frank Davis, Saul Alinsky, Tony Rezko, Rashid Kalidi, Mona Kalidi, Acorn, and of course Michelle Obama.
No, I think Obama is not a Marxist. He apparently hasn't read or doesn't understand what he read. Marx never talked about giving anything to anybody. Everybody was a laborer, though some worked harder and better than others.
Obama and his take on Marxism is distorted and apropos to American culture of welfare. Marx believed in labor, good hard work. In his day and thought children died working in mines.
Obama wants to distribute wealth to people who do not do good hard work. Marx would laugh at Obama and his ilk, just as we have to find Obama laughable and way out of date.
Marx in fact did a great deal of good for capitalism. He believed in capitalism. Over the years the study of Marx's Capitalism has allowed us here in America to improve upon all of the bad things Marx talked about, and today Marx would have to rethink his thoughts because he never imagined technology would come as far as it has and be applied the way that it has.
Obama is simply outdated in his early 19th century economic thinking.
Last century's Soviet Union and Maoist China proved Marx's capitalism only brought equality to be poor. The capitalist is needed by workers, even today.
I reject Obama's thought and will not vote for him mostly because of his questionable loyalty and character based on the company he has, and maybe still does, keep.
That is my right and I'll exercise it. in the words of President Nixon, "I'm not a crook!"
