Obama is probably looking to the Canadian model of gun ownership, i.e. you can own them but you have to keep them locked up in a certified business storage vault somewhere in the city. That way the government can verify when you check them out and check them in and what you used them for. Like Canada's national healthcare system, if it's good enough for the Canadian's it's good enough for the American's. Just a matter of defining ownership like defining the rich, a relative term to be redefined at the will of those in power. Yep, he supports the right to gun ownership, just a matter of who controls them, that all.

Here is a bumper sticker I would like to have: "Guns don't kill people, abortions do!" Libs employ their contorted logic that we need fewer or no guns so there will be no killing of innocent people. Yet the abortions they love ALWAYS kill innocent people. This leopard cannot change his spots. He will go after all guns, once he gets rid of the "ugly-scary" guns. Hunters, make no mistake about it. You are in his sights, as are the rest of us.

Yep the first thing they do is take your guns away. The 2nd amendment is to protect us from a run away goverment. Obama will make sure we lose our right to own guns.

Take a good hard look at the "Fairness Doctrine" and then say those who say the anti-gun groups don't want to take away other rights. Our freedom is at stake, we can't afford to elect anyone with his record or who will appoint the Judges who will take away more of our rights.

Funny that Obama has no trouble hiding behind 24 hour armed security at tax payer expense. If a Secret Service agent killed an attacker saving Obama's life or any other high level government official, they would pin a medal on his chest. If a lawful citizen of Chicago used a gun to defend his life against an attacker, Obama would have him sent to jail. I guess some animals are more equal than others.

To MG. It seems to me you are the one wearing the funny hat. All you have to do is a little research to find that Chris is 100% accurate on his statement. NRA Life Member and VERY proud of that.

Senator Obama is a "say anything" to get elected candidate. This is an excellent article that focuses on the facts and not the hype. Senator Obama has an extreme agenda that is reflected in his voting record (when he didn't vote 'present'), his relationships and his early speeches. He is the most inexperienced person to ever run for president. What experience he does have is riddled with very troubling controversy. There is Wright, Ayers, Rezko, Dorn, ACORN, etc. This isn't Star Search! This is our presidency. Obama is a disaster waiting to happen!

Obama is the last thing we need in the presidency or anywhere in government for that matter. He's a proven lying sleezebag and his wife is a flake. Don't 20 years of affiliation with a hate mongering preacher and long term friendship with a domestic terrorist couple say enough about his philosophical orientation and his character? Would he even be in public life were it not for the disfunctional urban Negro culture that propelled him into the corrupt world of Chicago politics? How about his work for ACORN and the fraudulant voter registrations that this organization is known for? I see in his past affiliations, statements and voting record (what there is of it) much reason to fear that an Obama adminstration's agenda for America would entail a shift of governing philosophy toward the radical left, enabled by the agenda driven judiciary that he will most certainly push through a Democrat congress. Accepting comprimise of our constitutional rights, beginning but not ending with 1st and 2nd ammendments,(fairness doctrine and "gun safety" legislation, respectively) will become the new patriotism. His brand of "HOPE" when subjected to scrutiny is a socialistic formula for a malignant intrusion of government into middle class Americans life. It is most sobering that his organization has already made threats of legal action against people for bringing up some frightening aspects of his personal history. As his agenda solidifies into legislation Dr. King's dream of racial equality could well morph into a bloody nightmare when his duped supporters, particularly working whites, currently intoxicated by his flamboyant immatation of substance awaken into the reality of life in Obamaworld. McCain is no prize, but Obamamamma will take us where we don't want to go.

For me, the Second Amendment is there for everyone to have that little bit of power to protect what we believe is important. It's definitely there when the governement decides to go a different direction from public opinion. If the government takes that one bit of power away from civilians, it would make it easier for them to take more rights away from us. If the day ever comes where U.S. civilians have to bend over and pick up a rock to protect ourselves from well-armed, government controlled agencies who are trying to suppress the voices of its people, everyone will be wishing we still had the right to keep and bear arms. For those of you who think that the Second Amendment is not important, you might want to get educated a little more on why it is the Second Amendment and not the 27th. While you do that, I think I'll get that M1A Socom I've wanted to get.

Please folks, don't vote for him. He's been lying with alacrity and has gone largely unchallenged by mesmerized and/or fearful "journalists" of the major media outlets. But his voting history, easy repositionings, and past associations should be seen as signs of great danger to any thinking person. I think we'er on the brink of a national tragedy here. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm 72 years old and have seen these same signs here and elseware.

Mr. Cox: Your essay is well written and 100% accurate. It is too bad more Americans do not take the Constitutional and personal dangers that an Obama Presidency presents to We The People, more seriously. Sen. Obama is a consumate liar and uses words and verbal tones as a snake charmer uses his flute, to mesmerize the crowds. In Obama's world, the ends justifies the means. I am amazed that the illegal alien, B.H. Obama, could get as far as he has in this country. His sealed school records will show that he was educated as a "forign student". He traveled to Pakistan in 1981 using his Indonesian Citizen passport, when it was forbidden to US Citizens to travel there. There is a birth certificate in Mombasa, Kenya and his family testimony of his Kenyan birth. There is no record of Obama's taking the Oath of Fielty to America, after reaching the age of majority (required for forign "citizens": Indonesia). Because of powerful (well-monied) backers, boldness and smooth talking, Obama has NEVER been vetted to run for any political office in America. Electing Obama will cause retro-active CHANGES to the Constitution. America will be CHANGED forever. I already have my "tools" and cases of ammo. I can tell MG is anti-gun. Or he just doesn't know anything because he doesn't do ANY research.

MG, If you believe that Obama isn't a threat to the 2nd Amendment only because he says so, I'd be willing to bet you'd believe Adolph Hitler didn't want to start WWII just because he said so. Actions speak louder than words.
