Hear that, SDIndependent? Guess you need to back off.

I have been vacillating between the two candidates and planned to wait until after the debates. However, I have finalized my decision to vote for Obama-Biden based on Obama's strong convention speech and McCain's first important and very weak decision regarding his VP. This strong statement from Obama is what I was hoping to hear from McCain about the Corsi book that smeared Obama. Not a word from McCain except "Get a sense of humor." As a life-long Republican, I am going to give Obama-Biden a chance at this Washington governance game. I am impressed with this strong statement from Obama which reinforces my sense that he is on the right track despite all the negatives the other side tries to raise about him. Go Obama-Biden!

I am glad Senator Obama has told the media to back off on Bristol Palin. However, I am more impressed with Palin being upfront, therefore I will be voting McCain/Palin.

Obama can back off this all he wants and play the cute little politician. Or he could go for the jugular and actually acts like he wants to win this. Palin's character is up for grabs to the first bidder.

I TOTALLY agree with Obama that Palin's daughter's pregnancy should be off limits. I am not voting for McCain-Palin but I think we should be respectful of both campaigns and leave the children alone.

I have to believe Obama is sincere when he asks the media to leave family members out of the dirty campaigning. But this discussion makes me wonder yet again, what "CHOICE" would Obama's mother had made if abortion was legal at the time? How this man can say he supports a women's right to an abortion just seems incredibly hypocritical.

I am glad young Bristol is choosing to let the baby live. It sounds like the young couple are taking responsibility for their actions. God bless them both for stepping up and making the hardest choice of their young lives.

OBAMA: Raise taxes and kill babies. PALIN: Kill taxes and raise babies. There is your difference.

"Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression.” Dr. Haim Ginott. I think Governor Palin should turn down the VP offer and take care of her family. http://SmarterToddler.net

Garland: Isn't that a cute sound bite? If only you had the evidence to support it, it wouldn't just be so much more hot air. Sarah "Barracuda" Palin's record does NOT support your claim that she will lower taxes. She left Wasilla, Alaska with $4000 debt PER CAPITA after raising taxes, borrowing millions to build a community center and failing to provide basic services like sewerage.

The good cop bad cop thing isn't going to work. His staff blaired against Palin and he had to jump in. Now he is saying that his staff didn't have anything to do with it but did he tell the DNC, or his supporters or the bloggers or MoveOn or only the reporters? It's a nice image but it won't work. If he can't manage his staff and the DNC, he won't be able to manage an out of control blame oriented Congress.

Get a life Soxconn. There is no need for Obama to tell his staff or the dems to lay off. Obama has always made it clear that family is off limits and they know that having witnessed the Michelle harrasments. Stop trying to pin what people say or do on Obama. You can't control people's thoughts and things they want to say. Obama hasn't never had to control his staff, they all share a common vision and goals and know what is expected of them and what is and what is not acceptable behaviour.

She is a beautiful girl, she favors her mother. These are the times we are living in. I am glad she has chosen to keep her child. I am also very proud that Barack once again spoke and reminded us that it is a non-political issue. It is irrelevant to what we as a nation need to focus on, and to continue is simply backbiting, hurtful, and distracting.

LizfromBatonRouge is an idiot, she does not undersstand that basic services like sewarage is a problem that cannot be resolved overnight. That takes a feasability study and a vote by the community, maybe Liz has an outhouse and that is where she sits and writes this garbage.

Obama and the dems want to run on CHANGE, unfortunately when the change is getting a strong woman involved who has principles, then its wrong to have change and we must stay with the status quo, mainly a Washington insider in Biden. How strange that only the Dem's can identify change and tell us what we want.

Question of the day

White House officials and Senate Democrats met in private three times last week to craft health care legislation. Do you think these discussions should be more public?
