So 98% of her contributions came from generic donors. The "oil" lobbyists provided 2%. This story is a thinly veiled smear and at best misleading. Bury the 90% part in the last line and play up the 2% oil in the lead....

This is one of the most misleading hatchet jobs I’ve seen. It is also an example of very shoddy journalism. Jennifer Haberkorn has done a cut and paste job, taking information from someone else’s work and twisting the facts to make an attack article. The original work with this information appears in OpenSecrets.org at this web address. To see the real story regarding Palin’s finances visit this web page. http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2008/08/the-money-behind-palin-1.html

websurfer, you left something out. Haberkorn and Biden now have something in common besides being far left Demorats. She and Joe are both plagerizers.---------------Sdindependent, keep trying for something intelligent or substantive. Your'e not even close yet.

Wait a minute---someone is trying to bring up lobbyists to attack the Republicans? Do they really want to go there? OK--this does not compare to Old Hair-Plug Biden, bought and paid for by the lobbyists and corrupted by them, too: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/25/AR2008082501991.html

Republican politicians are notorious for using moral issues to get votes. I was convinced to vote on the abortion issue, but when republicans had complete power and no abortion legislation was passed, I knew it was just an election issue. I'm sorry, if experience and national security are serious issues, then why should I think the person is qualified. No one is going to get my gun and abortion is not about to become illegal. No thanks rove.

Regardless of where Palin's contributions come from, I don't care, and it is inconsequential to my ultimate decision. As a lifelong Republican who voted my first election for Barry Goldwater, I am voting Obama-Biden. This VP choice by McCain is transparently pandering to a sector of the electorate putting election first before country. To those who say Obama has the same level of experience as Sarah Palin, governor of a state with fewer inhabitants than Memphis, TN, I say Senator Obama earned over 18 million votes, has been nationally vetted for over 22 months during a stiff campaign, participated in over 21 national debates, has traveled extensively while Palin just got a passport 2 years ago for her first overseas trip. The contrasts are significant. The religious right and the hard-line conservatives can continue applauding Governor Palin on her pro life pro gun stance, but this wise, old life-long, centrist Republican sees what is going on and says, "Enough!" I refuse to suffer through 4 more years of mediocre Bush-Cheney tactics favoring corporations and the rich. Regrettably, the Grand Old Party are truly off their game, have lost touch with what's important in people's lives. The party needs a new brand, and it isn't coming from McCain-Palin.

Message to politicallysavvy: Your name certainly belies your comments. Gov. Palin well exceeds Nobamas qualifications and you know it. He is an empty suited liberal creation of moveon.org and others of their ilk. She is a refreshing change from this ultra left liberal chameleon from the south side of Chicago and his choice of a D.C insider liberal hack(you will soon be hearing a lot more about Biden and none of it complimentary). Your comment on pandering will not resonate with the millions of additional women who will see through crap like yours and vote for McCain/Palin. I'm sorry it spoiled your day and blew you right out of the water. That's the way the cookie crumbles. By the way, are you moveon.org or dailykos, etc.? Just curious.
