You learn a lot about a person when you endure the hardships these men faced at the hands of the North Vietnamese. They are heros who sacrificed their freedom to protect ours. Nothing we can will ever honor or repay them for their service.

There is a comparison that needs to be made here. John McCain has many people who personally know him and give witness about who he is. Barack Obama has his wife and politicians who recommend Barack. How do we, as voters know who Obama is? We only get the campaign approved releases and his books. Hmmm! Who do we vote for, Obama the media man or McCain the real man?

Quote from article: In his nomination acceptance speech last week in Denver, Mr. Obama indirectly raised the issue of whether Mr. McCain's years in captivity have made him too emotionally volatile. "If John McCain wants to have a debate about who has the temperament and judgment to serve as the next commander in chief, that's a debate I'm ready to have," Mr. Obama said. ### Does anyone else see it as a bit of a stretch that Obama was actually calling McCain's emotional state into question? I'm still undecided as to who I will vote for, but this just doesn't work for me.

"He has not faced the military opposition that helped sink the 2004 presidential campaign of Democrat John Kerry, a fellow Vietnam veteran." Maybe the author is being polite, but calling Kerry a 'fellow veteran' is like saying George Washington and Benedict Arnold were fellow soldiers. True, but only half of the story. Kerry was a despicable liar and turncoat (just like Arnold as a matter of fact), who destroyed any honor he had, and forfeited an consideration due him by his fellow soldiers and the American people. As the son of a 3-tour Vietnam Veteran, I pay VERY close attention to whoever the military prefers as their Commander in Chief.

Sean Connery said it in The Presidio. The military is like big dog. They like to have it around to protect their property but when the neighbors come they always lock it up. So much for the Democratic view of the military. Obama should not have added judgement to the debate, he is already behind the power curve with regard to the response to the invasion of Georgia and he had to follow McCain's lead with regard to charity for the victims of Gustav. His off the record statements on small town America is wrong and can be attributed to his actual values and not the standard legal tautology he tries to press on the media and the voters. I would like to see a debate on tempermanent and judgement but in an open town hall, not a media dog and pony show.

This should be an open and shut case, but of course it's not. McCain on the one hand has experience in not only the Military but in the how to of dealing with an armed conflict. Obama on the other hand does not have a clue unless you count what he has been told or may have read in a book. For myself I cannot see my way clear to vote for yet another Presidential candidate who has no military experience like the last two we have had to endure.

McCain's slogan is "Country First". That's all you need to know in this election. We need a president who will put America's interests ahead of everything else---and that's John McCain. His whole life has been that. Obama is an unknown but what I get from him is this: "Obama First". That's bad for America.

Ad opens with a pic of Obama in front of the greek pillars in Denver. "Voice" With Obama, we would be looking at four more years of liberal indulgences that this country can ill afford. Raised taxes on individuals and small businesses, legalizing partial birth abortion, keeping Americans dependent on foreign oil......as prices rise (show gas pump prices) Cut to a pic of an American flag behind pic of McCain. "Voice" John McCain tried and true, and ready to lead day one. He will lower taxes, work to provide affordable health care for All Americans, win the war in Iraq, and drill for oil in our own nation for our nation's citizens. Vote for John McCain and see this country rise yet again to its full greatness and potential.

As Mr. Knutson and Swindle have stated, honor in the actions of John McCain far outweigh his potential for aggitated reactiveness in filling the executice seat and CIC. These gentleman present at the convention had been given seats before, in Hanoi. They know the difference, are survivors and appreciate a choice that should have been made before Bush. What BHO spews is intelligent discussion based upon socialist values so far left his own line referring to the earth and its four corners implied as flat. McC has been a jet jockey, tail hook qualified and the best of the best as an aviator. He has seen at altitude the curvature of the earth and knows it is not flat. McC does not revere the socialist left line as the media and BHO. He understands that honor, duty and country comes from within individuals that form together for those values. Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin are the only choice now as people should come to understand if they look deep within their souls. I cannot stand the thought of two senatorial gasbags holding the executive, the three legs of our nation in the House, Senate and Executive held by one party. Please remember to vote for less government as better government. NOBAMA

The reason he isn't being "swiftboated" Like Kerry is because he isn't POS like Kerry DUH.. THANK GOD we got so many of them back from the North Vietnamese. How many POW's have we gotten back from the TALIBAN, or the Iraqi "insurgents"?? We need to treat our prisoners with "respect and basic human rights"?? Our enemies can beat, abuse, and kill our soldiers. Without a peep from the UN, or "human rights" organizations.
