It appears as if this young man is stepping up to accept his responsibilities. I say, good for him. If you dance to the music , you should pay the fiddeler.

If John McShame should luck out and get in the Big house, the kid will probably end up on the staff just like G. Bushes son-in-law did.

It was good to see Bristol and Levi standing beside the family and holding hands. With the support they've got they will be fine. :-)

Its really telling how the DEM comments are so bitter and spiteful. Why vote for Obama when his supporters are so negative and look at the glass half-empty. Pathetic.

Let's get real people. Two high school students fornicate and the girl gets pregnant. Why isn't this treated with shame? Why is everyone acting like it's some act of heroism? Why the heck is Palin parading around the baby-daddy? Better yet, why is she subjecting her daughter to all of this? Personal ambition, maybe? Just shameful!!

If Bill Clinton had been this honest about his own fornicating, I might still be voting Democrat.

I don't think that there is anything shameful in owning up to a mistake and taking responsibility, nor inviting your daughter's fiance to a political event. What IS shameful is the attacks on Palin's family. You can guide your children down the right path, but ultimately you cannot make the decisions for them. What a wonderful thing that the "mistake" was not "fixed" by abortion, but by embracing the situation and taking the family approach.

I agree. Take responsibility and realize consequences and move on. This is showing unity and support. Great family.

seahorse, you're right, at least with Biden we won't have to worry about nepotism. His sons already have lucrative jobs with MBNA Bank and the D.C. lobbyists. No quid pro quo there though, they're just regular 'lunch bucket' dems cashing in on connections.

Having a baby in high school is the latest thing. Everybody's doing it. 12 girls, grade 7 to 12, were pregnant last year in the school where I teach. White girls, folks, in case you're stereotyping already. One of the problems is that we let the girls bring their babies around the school to show off to the unlucky, unpregnant girls. Sex happens. If Sarah Palin lets her daughter spend private time with the town "f" ing "redneck," as he calls himself on his MySpace, and NOT provide her birth control, whose responsibility is this pregnancy? How old was Bristol as she was sleeping with her boyfriend, 16? Younger? Look at her boyfriend's sister's website showing pictures of Bristol drinking whiskey and having her face licked by another girl. It's not like Bristol was going to ask her evangelist mom for the pill. Lucky for Bristol, Mom has a good paying job. Unlucky for the girls at my school, they're usually from broken homes with low-wage-earning parents. OH, BY THE WAY, BUSH JUST GAVE ONE BILLION DOLLARS TO THE COUNTRY OF GEORGIA, NEAR RUSSIA. YOU'LL FIND THE STORY BACK IN THE LOCAL NEWS SECTION OF THE WASHINGTON TIMES, BUT ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE WASHINGTON POST.
