Imagine if she were President. Because she believes what the Wannabe Zionist John Hagees of the non-denominational/ southern Baptist tradition tell her, she would have no qualms about taking us into another Middle East war, this time not to defend Kuwait, or to remove the leader of Iraq, but this time to defend Israel's borders. That is her Biblical imperative, but it is not my imperative, and it is not the imperative of most of this nation. And most of the nation pays most of the taxes and votes most of the votes. I hope this woman knows that in this country our elected officials are beholden to US. Well, s'posed to be, anyway.

To mcleangirl, I guess you must be a liberal? One who would pull us out of Iraq tomorrow? If so lots a luck..If and when Iran develops nuclear weapons, would you allow them to strike Israel, because thats what they are going to do.Without our support with the rest of the western nations the whole Middle East will go under. Then Europe, then the USA!!! God Bless America. P.S. She will only be the Vice President Senator McCain will be the President.

With a friend like mcleangirl who needs enemies. It is terrific to see mcleangirl can read minds and foretell the future. I have news for mcleangirl. Obama says he wants to expand the war in Afghanistan where he says the real battle needs to be fought. This is the place where his Saudi friends have poured money into Pakistani madrassas. It is an area that has never been controlled by any government. Obama is setting the stage for a confrontation with 160 million Muslims in Pakistan who like the Taliban. In a place where we have overland supply lines through the former Soviet Republics that are being pressured by Russia to follow their policies. The conflict there will make Iraq look like a picnic. http://counterterrorismblog.org/2008/08/madrassas_extending_into_pakis.php

Franklin, Washington, Adams, Jefferson were all famously Unitarians and hostile to "enthusiasm", that is Palin's hyper-emotional brand of religion. Moreover, I suspect that once the evangelicals realize that Jesus is NOT going to Rapture them away from life's problems, they are likely to blame everyone but themselves -- particularly Jews. Their future history says that Israel will rebuild Solomon's Temple, in time for the Anti-Christ to defile it, thus allowing Jesus to return.... Israel is certain not to rebuild the Temple, and thus may well incur evangelical wrath.

The main conversation over here in the UK is what if Mcain is ill or drops dead, this woman will then be president! The general feeling is this could be a president that could cause a war.

Hats off to The Washington Times for answering the question for me on Sarah Palin's support of Israel, an issue of great importance to me, and one no one else I've seen thus far touch upon. Bravo! This is why I love this paper, and visit this site at least daily.

John Quincy Adams said this about America taking sides in contests between foreign nations... "America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own." . These days here in America, a candidate is dead in the water if they don't publicly kiss the AIPAC ring. . Given a choice between Adams and Randy Scheunemann... I'll go with the former every time.

Liberal? How about free-thinker. I'm the daughter of a Vietnam vet, a Marine. I am anti-abortion, anti-welfare-queen, and pro-gun rights. I think every mother across the planet ought to be given a gun and directions how to use it to protect her family. I am also against going into expensive, personal wars that are unprovoked. If you wanted to go to war with somebody, it should have been Saudi Arabia who allows its school textbooks to teach murderous hatred of America, providing the majority of the Saudi Arabian 9/11 hijackers with a moral certitude that they were doing God's work. Saudi Arabians have funded more terrorism than Sadaam Hussein could have dreamed. We picked in Iraq what we thought would be a weak, oil-rich target to satisfy Cheney's cynicism and Bush's desire for a small, victorious war, a Granada, for his legacy. Just because I am against Bush's war policies does not mean I am a liberal. I am my own woman, who was telling her pro-Obama office colleagues only a couple of months ago that I planned on voting for McCain, whom I have been waiting to see on the ballot for many years. McCain I trusted. The wacky lady with the crazy kids and the flag of another country in her office, I do not trust. By the way, tell me I'm wrong, but isn't it illegal in most states to have a flag from another country in a public office building? Palin keeps the Israeli flag in her office, so whom does she work for?

Yep I expect she would back Israel... It’s what anyone who thinks guns are ok in children’s hands and think its ok to kill another human being just for looking a certain way and of course it’s done in the name of protecting one self from terrorism. After all the Israelis has become everything the Nazi’s dreamt of becoming and all with the help of the Reps.

mcleangirl: NEWSFLASH: Bush and Cheney are not running. You have a very short memory of you think the war on terror was unprovoked. Do you have any recollection of those tall buildings in NYC known as the World Trade center? The best military in the world has eliminated a murderous dictator and closed down the terrorist training/breeding grounds in Iraq. You argue that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Well, Germany had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor but we kicked their butts too. As a kid, your socialist candidate studied the Koran at a Whabi school Jakarta which offered no US geography. That's why he thinks there are 57 states. He and his angry, anti-American wife are the most dangerous people to ever attempt a White House takeover. Sara Palin represents middle America and was a excellent choice. I can understand why you socialists and Marxist are worried. America has found its own Margaret Thatcher.

The question is who do you trust more to come through for Israel...Obama-Biden the wafflers or McCain-Palin the record makers? The man who said he would meet with any world leader or dictator without any preconditions could easily be swayed to give-up a pawn or a rook in this game of foreign policy chess just to make himself look good.

So now I know what the lapel pin was that she wore on Wed nite. I find it interesting that she wore that instead of the American flag. That and the fact that she backs Israel because she is part of a Protestant evangelical church that consider the preservation of the state of Israel a biblical imperative.

That and the fact that she backs Israel because she is part of a Protestant evangelical church that consider the preservation of the state of Israel a biblical imperative is a scary thought. If she has her way we'll attack Iran in the name of Israel. When will we stop being the big "Bully" of the world and take care of our own. We already send too much money out of the country and now we're sending 1 billion dollars to Georgia and that is sure to not sit right with Putin!!

Greetings All, I like Sarah Palin. But she, like many Evangelicals, has been deceived by false teaching. Literal Israel is not the subject of end time prophecy. The Jews lost their special place when they denied Jesus. The Israel of prophecy is comprised of the global body of believers in Christ, a spiritual nation. The Armageddon of Revelation will be a global persecution of certain Christians just before the Second Coming, not a war with the literal nation of Israel, Yet, anyone who accepts Christ can be counted as a citizen of Spiritual Israel. And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein: - Zechariah 2:4 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: - Romans 2:28 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.- Romans 2:28 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: - Romans 9:6 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. - Romans 9:7 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. - Romans 9:8 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. - Galatians 3:29 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. – Galatians 4:28 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.- Galatians 3:14 God Bless you all.

Beyond general considerations of taking a conservative or liberal stance, like McCain, Sarah Palin appears to look at war as something other than a last resort. We all know about McCain's continual saber rattling and his shockingly cavalier attitude toward death and carnage (bomb, bomb, bomb Iran). Even worse, this GOP ticket apparently thinks God supports our unprovoked wars against other countries. Palin said as much recently: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080903/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_palin_iraq_war. Don't Muslims too think "God" supports their wars? Who is right? The confluence of militarism and Jesus-talk is deeply troubling and has absolutely no relation to the message delivered by "the prince of peace." Evangelicals, some of them anyway, (to the extent that they embrace the barbarism of war), have forsaken common sense and the message of Jesus. Yes, it is a dangerous world. By invading Iraq we have exponentially increased the dangers. Should we elect leaders who all but promise more of the same?
