What you haven't heard about the Labor Dept's latest report:
Illinois has the 6th highest unemployment rate in the nation.
It appears Obama's legacy of "hope" and "change" for the citizens of Illinois as a result of serving in that state's legislature fell a little short.
It appears that Obama's US Senate seat has not allowed him to fight the real fight for the citizens back home in Illinois; he hasn't delivered his own constituents a whole lot of "hope" and "change" from his perch in DC.
But dang, he's doing very well personally!
Who's first?
The increase in the jobless rate is a direct result of the slowdown caused by high fuel prices. The high gas prices are caused by the progressive democrat parties totally complete blockage of any increase in domestic oil supplies, nuclear power or anything else that would actually solve the problem. But you know who will get the blame! George Bush. And you know who will not solve the problem...the Democrats. When Obama was asked about the gas prices, what did he say...the prices went up "TOO FAST". Not that they should not have got up at all or that they should be lower but just that they went up too fast
The dollar has plummeted while Bush's economic policies were in effect.
So, how is drilling for more oil, which takes years to do (I live in Texas) going to accomplish anything in the next year or two?
You should quit with the populist notions that you hear about on Rush Limbaugh, or elsewhere.
I work off shore and am well aware of how long it takes to get oil to the market. The Dems are full of bull. The high price of oil is the main drag on the economy and Pelosi is single handidly holding the nation hostage for political purposes. I would submit that the Dems passage of the minimum wage farce is also having an affect on businesses. They probably counted the illegal workers that are being rounded up also.
