One only needs to look at the agents of change and their records to find out if it is real change or an image: Democrats: Obama, Biden, Kennedy, Reid, Pelosi (status quo, blame politics, make your point legislators) Republicans: McCain, Palin, Lieberman, Giuliani (maverick, independent, can do legislators)

I will vote for McCain because of Palin. McCain as a reformist is an illusion. He helped engineer the presence of millions of illegal aliens in the United States and then tried to bully us into his reform amnesty. The problem is both parties have the wrong candidate. The Democrats have performed as usual, putting together a ticket that is worse than what the Republicans have to offer. We should start the impeachment proceedings the day McCain enters office. During the impeachment we can bring Palin up to speed and then wind up with a quality president.

Since when is it stealing to use the same words as an opponent? Since the socialist media says so. Why can't each opponent be on the same side of an issue? Because the socialist media says so. Why is Palins family fair game to criticize and publicize and not Bidens? Because the socialist media takes that position and cares not what it looks like to the American people. The main stream American socialist media is blatantly and demonstrably campaigning for the Democrat candidates.

The fakery of the Democrats and their bogus message of "Change" is finally landing on the public. If they can't hang onto the idea, or if they are exposed as NOT being for "Change You Can BELIEVE In", so what? If you can't take the heat, pull out of the race. If McCain-Palin make the case they are more agents of change than the Dims, then, Oh Well, get over it. The voter will decide these things, and if B.O. can't be convincing on substance, he deserves to lose. And if he gets into the Oval Office, we will need to start impeachment proceedings against him immediately for all his corruption.

wow you rightwing ideologues are shameless. i love it! you lie so well maybe your ticket should take it. if you keep lying enough maybe even the weapons of mass destruction will magically appear! go ahead, tell us how an abramoff earmark for a rail line from wasilla to senator ted stevens' ski resort is not at all sort of you know hilarious? mccain was for the surge before he was against it! he didn't even think we needed 100,000 troops over there back in the day. republicans have been in charge of the supreme court since daddy bush, congress from '94 - '06, and the white house from '01 the present. watch one c-span. but keep up that reform talk and go steal some more of the democrats' ideas while denigrating the democrats. good show!

Let us at least be honest about what we are talking about when we say change. To Obama change mean repudiating the policies of Pres. Bush. Both domestic and foreign. No essential change to te structure of the Fed. Gov't is contemplated. Just better run and acting in the cooperation with both sides of the aisle. Change to McCain means smoothing out rough edges of Bush's policies but essentially believes they have changed the political landscape for the better and are to be continued. Come on Cons be honest. You believe Bush's dismal approval ratings are a liberal media deception. If people really understood Bush. i.e. read only the WT or listened to talk radio he'd be way up in popularity. The changes you want are nothing less then the gutting of the federal gov't. No cooperation with the hated Libs (and all Dems are Libs) is possible.

The word "change" belongs to no one. I agree with kc that John McCain represents systemic fundamental change and that Obama stands for policy change. Furthermore, McCain has clearly demonstrated in his record that he is against wasteful spending, voting against it 87% of the time. Obama has only voted against wasteful spending 12% of the time. The difference between McCain being in the senate and being the president is that he will have the power of the veto. He has promised that he will use that power to veto wasteful spending and to veto any bill that is not a straight up or down vote. If you are the type of person that believes the government is broken, then this message may appeal to you. If you believe that Bush and the republicans are the root of all evil, then it will not. Obama is your guy. Also, let's remember that McCain ran a "reform" themed campaign against bush in the republican primary 8 years ago. The "change" mantra seemed to be, actually, perfected by Bill Clinton in his race vs. Bush I. We also need to remember, that in this race alone, Obama has been accused of plagiarizing a friend's speech and that Biden was caught plagiarizing years ago, an offense that caused him to drop-out of his own bid for the presidency. So.... all this business about stealing rhetoric seems to be a common practice among politicians. I am supporting John S. McCain for president because I don't need to interpret his rhetoric, I need only to judge his record.

In regards to Palin doing the "sunday morning talk shows," I think it may be a good strategy to schedule those venues after the vice- presidential debate. The purpose of this strategy would not be an attempt to keep her from the tough scrutiny of the "evil" press, but to have the element of surprise in her corner for the debate. Knowing what to expect of your opponent in a debate is an essential element of preparation for it. The ratings for the convention speeches were huge; few Americans have the time or patience to watch the network coverage of the "he said, she said" approach to information gathering. The viewership for this debate will be historic. If she is able throw him off his game, he may resort to his preachy bloviating for which he is so well-known. Of course, I am just a big nobody, mother of five with a special needs child...so don't bank on my advice.

it's all about "strategy" and "winning." republicans matter. truth doesn't. the country doesn't. neither do family values. neither do uninsured americans, children whose parents can't pay their mortgages, the worst national debt in history, the worst disparity between rich and poor since the depression, and 100,000+ dead iraqi civilians, for what. that is all negligible or the democrats' fault. winning is everything! george mcpalin '08 and forever and to hell with you libs

Reps have had 8 years to make fundamental, systemic change in DC. They have - and we have the results. An abyssmal record. McCain can take all the words he wants from Obama: hope, unity, change, reform. His record of 90% voting with Bush next to Obama's fresh, systemic approach with a vision we can all work towards and his authenticity to boot - there is no question who is the better leader. McCain's impulsive responses to Obama, his jealousy over not being able to claim the mantle of change and "re-instate" his "maverick" identity are worrisome. I need a great future, not someone trying to recover his past glory.

Can one of you rose colored dems tell me what the dem congress has done in the last 2 years? hmmmm don't think to hard...they have named 180 post offices. I guess its not to hard to have a 90% voting record on that. I guess Barack voted present and his record is, what, 80% in agreement with George? Keep running against George...a lot of us voting for McCain/Palin aren't to happy w/ "G" either!
