On second look. . . Carlos Rogers is still one of the worst cover-corners in the league, and was beaten like a big tom-tom - all day! Smoot too, can't cover even the slightly quick wide receivers in the league. Laron Landry was beaten badly many times, and though the team's best db, he's obviously very rusty! And poor Reed, he is a very nice person and has a situation with his son that we all pray for. . . but he's out of his element anytime he tries to cover anyone that has any speed at all. Run support or an occasional blitz, yeah, but pass coverage (especially man-coverage), ouch! That's just looking at the defensive secondary (a second time). If Jon Jansen is healed and healthy, Heyer is not going to represent any improvement AT ALL at the position. Heyer is average and not destined to be anything but a journeyman at best. So, while Heyer wasn't as bad as say the QB, the head coach, the WRs, the DBs, or as uninvolved as the D-line, or the TE, why focus a second look on him anyway? He made little to no difference in the game's outcome.

CLAY 44....DO YOU EVEN WATCH FOOTBALL, OR JUST COMPLAIN?...AS A MATTER OF FACT, HAVE YOU EVEN PLAYED THE GAME OR DO YOU JUST SIT AT HOME ON THE COUCH AND PLAY JOHN MADDEN AND EXPECT THE REAL THING TO PAN OUT LIKE THAT??...IF YOU SAY CARLOS ROGERS IS ONE OF THE "WORST" COVER CORNERS, PLEASE EXPLAIN Y QUARTERBACKS THROW TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FIELD??...EVERYONE GETS BEAT AT THAT POSITION, ITS THE NATURE OF THE GAME!...YOU CANT SHOW ME ONE CORNER IN THE NFL THAT DOESNT GET BEAT IN A GAME!..AND AS FAR AS HEYER GOES, HE DESERVES TO START!!...WHAT HAS JANSEN DONE IN HIS CAREER THAT PUTS HIM ABOVE HEYER, BESIDES STAY ON THE INJURED RESERVE LIST DUE TO POOR HEALTH AND NOT BEING IN SHAPE FOR THE SEASON?...HEYER HAS MORE HUNGER AND DESIRE TO PLAY THE GAME, SO THEREFORE HE GETS THE START!...THE REDSKINS AS A WHOLE DID BETTER THEN ALOT OF PEOPLE GAVE THEM CREDIT FOR SPECIALLY GOING INTO A BRAND NEW OFFENSE AGAIN SINCE JUST GRASPING AL SAUNDERS COMPLICATED OFFENSE...GIVE THEM CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE...JUST THE 1ST GAME OF THE SEASON, WE'LL STILL BE IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!...
