Imagine a politician that has accomplishments that people WANT. Imagine a politician that doesn't talk rhetoric but gets things DONE. McCain needs to put this woman in charge of domestic issues while he deals with foreign policy.

I agree that Palin is an inspired choice... But lurking in the background is this whole Troopergate witch hunt, so McCain-Palin better be prepared. It's clear that Palin's reform agenda did not sit well with everyone in Alaska, especially legislators who can no longer cozy up to lobbyists so easily. And the legislative committee tipped its anti-Palin hand by appointing Hollis French, a partisan democrat Obama supporter, to oversee the Troopergate investigation. His leaking information damaging to Palin about the as yet unwritten final report is well known, but now French has lied about the nature of his role in the investigation. The legislature hired an "independent" investigator to take the politics out of this. French says that he has not influenced the investigation, but there is smoking gun proof that he has! Not WRIGHT for America (http://www.notwrightforamerica.com) has been all over Hollis French on his numerous transgressions, which the media don't want people to know about. They have the scoop.

I find it very refreshing to have an elected representative that serves all the people instead of a chosen few or the minority crowd. Putting the people first what an idea, something that you hardly ever find in today’s politicians. Mrs. Palin just in case the media and your accusers do not get it, most Americans are just like you and we do not have a passport because we do not have enough money to travel outside the US, I am for you lady, I admire you for standing up to those folks. I have always been amazed at how a person can take a job for over $100,000 and turn it into millions, i.e. Obama and Biden, please share the secret with us. Also when are you going to stop preaching this class warfare of taxing the rich? Let me see if I get this right, you and your buddy Biden and most of the elected officials are millionaires and you are going to tax the rich!!! I find it pure BS that the people making the laws are going to take more money out of their pockets and give it to a bunch of bureaucrats like you to distribute to someone else. Thanks but no thanks I and for that matter most of us hard working tax payers know how to take care of our money better than the US government ever thought of, just ask yourself a question, what has the government done right lately or for you in the past 2 years?

Here is something about the darling of the GOP, Palin originally supported earmarks for a controversial $398 million Alaska project dubbed the "bridge to nowhere." But she dropped her support after the state's likely share of the cost rose. She hung onto $27 million to build the approach road to the bridge. Under Palin's leadership, Alaska this year asked for almost $300 per person in requests for pet projects from one of McCain's top adversaries: indicted Sen. Ted Stevens. That's more than any other state received, per person, from Congress for the current budget year. Other states got just $34 worth of local projects per person this year, on average, according to Citizens Against Government Waste, a Washington-based watchdog group. That's your change agent!

Sarah Palin as VP is another example of the exploitation of women. This is part of why I left the Republican Party and I am now an Independent because this pick is all about winning the election for McCain and not about what is right for our country. Women in America should be pissed off at the fact that she was chosen over other more qualified women for this position (By the way I am a Man making these comments). This pick was one of desperation and its payoff is temporary. As with all things, when the novelty wears off, people wont care about Sarah Palin. She's a pretty face that brings nothing to the table but a persona of being tough. Note the word "persona". The bottom line is all about McCain. He is to old to finish a term as president. Lets not forget the last years of Reagan and I'll move to Canada if she's my President. All of you thinking of pulling the lever for the Republicans here are some things to think about. This is not about our party affiliation, its about our country. Its not about our military record. Its not about the color of our skin. Its about restoring morals, restoring our economy and restoring our respect as a country.(which doesnt mean fighting another war). We had 8 years of Republican rule and yes I voted for him the first time but remember, Ignorance is doing something again and again while expecting a different result. I cant pull the Republican lever again and expect something different because I am far from Ignorant.

Lots of leftist mobys on the WaTimes site these dayss - McCain with Palin has them running scared. Tee Dee is a classic example of the leftist moby - pretends to be a disaffected Republican when in fact they are most likely a flaming leftist straight from Daily KOS. TD never voted Rebpulican in their life, I can just about guarantee it. TD uses a republican sounding screen name, pretends to be a moderate/conservative, thinking other conservatives will take their point more easily from a fellow Republican. And lays out the DNC anti-Palin talking points, one by one. Notice not one word about McCain, the top of the Republican ticket - it's all about how bad Palin is. VP doesn't implement ANY policy folks. This, my friends, is a Democrat talking. Just ignore TD, they'll go away.

"sdpost2" wants to try to tie all of Alaska's problems to Sarah Palin. That just helps her, pal. The fact that Sarah is a reformer and wants to clean up Alaska actually proves the point that she is the candidate for Change. Saying Alaska tried to get the "Bridge To Nowhere" before Sarah pulled the plug only supports her growing identity as a reformer who will clean house. The same with "Alaska's" pork-barrel past. As for Citizens Against Government Waste, which you site, last year ranked Senators by their taxpayer friendliness and Joe Biden came in at 0%,Obama at 10%, and John McCain at a heroic 100%. And, for all of you who regularly visit this site, doesn't "sdpost2" sound like a variation on our old friend SDIndependent, spokesperson for MoveOn.org?

Let's *assume* that the following, for sake of discussion, *is* an ethics violation: Governor Palin fired the Alaska Public Safety Commissioner because he refused to fire a state trooper who had (1) made death threats against a senior citizen, (2) used a Taser on his 10-year old boy. In Alaska, the Public Safety Commissioner is a governor-appointed position, held *at the discretion of the governor*. She can fire anyone in that position for cause or for no cause at all. If you think that stinks, don't whine about it: change Alaska state law. I have no problem with exerting political influence to have a state trooper - a public servant who is responsible for public safety - fired after he made death threats against an old man and used a weapon on a 10-year old. Again, let us assume it was an ethics violation. The Palin-haters would rather sanctimoniously claim "ethics above all else!" at the expense of safety for the most vulnerable in our society, the old and the young. Keep slouching down that path, libs. To the most of us who don't wear tinfoil hats, you only confirm that Governor Palin is the right choice for the real America.

I am sorry but as a female and a conservative I have to question Palin's values. She left her home and her children right when they needed her most to pursue fame in the public sphere. It is very telling that her daughter became pregnant after she abandoned her to serve as mayor and then governor. She should have been home serving as a mother to her children. Now she wants to leave her family to serve as Vice President when she has 5 children one of which has DS and another that is pregnant! What kind of mom would do this? She should stay home to help her family in its time of need. Since moms have abandoned the home the nation has fallen a part. Palin's example with do nothing but encourage more women to do the same. Why are so many conservatives cheering for Palin when her actions run contrary to our espoused values?

True Conservative wrote: "It is very telling that her daughter became pregnant after she abandoned her to serve as mayor and then governor." Sorry True Conservative, I don't agree with you. If what you say is true, than my stay-at-home mom who was devoted to raising her children (including taking us to church and setting a good example) should have not have had one daughter get pregnant at 17 and another get pregnant at 21 outside of marriage. Many working moms have daughters that don't get pregnant. It's all in the choices made by the child. As my mom has always said, "No matter how well you teach and train your kids, ultimately they are going to do what they want do." Judging someone because of their child's choices is absolutely wrong. Kids make poor choices, adults make poor choices, no one is perfect. Palin is living what she believes. I see no neglect of her family. Many women have to work, many choose to work. Many choose to stay home. From all respects, I believe Palin to be a very good mom. She has handled her daughters situation with class and with love. Just because we are conservative doesn't mean we have to be SAHM. I by the way am a SAHM by choice, not because my being conservative dictates it.

something new i heard recently is that Biden, in a attempt to persuade catholics he follows their believes, said that he thinks life begins at conception. Ok great, but then he goes on to say i wouldn't want to impose my veiws on others though. WHAT!!! if killing 2 year old babies was legalized because they arn't considered humans yet, but i knew and believed they are humans still then i would oppose them. opposing wrong isn't imposing your rights on someone else murder is murder. i would impose that they are wrong to murder if i see it no matter what, Biden walking the line of pro-abortion and wanting catholic votes is going to backfire so hard!

Hey, all you Christians out there - just curious: Will you be happy when the world ends? Will that be a good thing, or a bad thing? Do you care whether we save our world?
