Obama requested more than $330 million worth of earmarks in 2006. He wanted money for 141 projects. The projects provided money for private high school libraries, city parks, museums, Brookfield zoo, multiple colleges, school districts, hospitals, and on and on. No wonder he has support from the power structure in CHicago and Illinois.

If a project is worthy it should be able to face competitive funding review. No federal back door funding is needed. The favored 140 projects Obama picked shows how connected supplicants get public funding. The Obama machine benefits because he has a big group of "bought" recipients. Why are tax payers around the US expected to pay for a community park in Chicago or $200,000 for a private high school's work study program?

Please check this out ... the most comprehensive page of information on Sarah Palin on the Internet ... including videos of her saying her proposed $30 billion pipeline is the “will of God,” her saying a month ago she doesn’t know what the vice-president does, and her recently praising the biggest pork barrel spender in Congress Ted Stevens - http://dailysource. org/palin It has in-depth research, audio clips, videos, excerpts, and links to hundreds of articles, including many from newspapers and TV stations in Alaska. It has rare footage, including her telling the ‘08 convention of the Alaska Independence Party, whose aim is to give Alaska a vote on seceding from the U.S., to “keep up the good work.” The level of research is unparalled. The site’s editors and volunteers include an Emmy-award winning CNN reporter, the former operating editor of the Monitor’s web site, the former head of NPRs News Blog and the Executive Director of the Online News Association - http://dailysource. org/about/ team Please repost email it to anyone who might want to know more.

I don't trust the Democratic Party and its leadership..The true democrats, the Truman,FDR democrats were not riddled with the liberal wing..The liberal wing (George Soros,Michael Moore,A.Baldwin,B Streisand the Daily Kos and many others have taken over the Democratic Party.I am so sorry that the ones calling themselves conservative democrats are still in the party and succumbing to the elite liberals and that goes for the liberal republicans.God will not be mocked with the ones in favor of abortion and partial birth procedures.. God Bless America.

And some want more government taxes...look what they do with what they get now! All of them. Their should be a moratorium on any new taxes, fees, etc. until big government cleans itself up. Waste fraud and abuse must be the load stone of new government revenue, not my or your wallet whether we are rich, poor or in between.

Now that is change I can believe in? for more of Nombama's other indulgences visit www.theobamafile.com Really is anybody suprised this man's only hope and change are gramatical. He controls people who live by slogans on a t-shirt or bumper sticker. Keep shining the light and see what keeps trying to scury back into the dark...ha ha

Funny, I haven't seen that Obama is passing out refunds to the residents of Illinois while requesting earmarks at the same time. Shore10 - did you read the end of the article? One way to avoid these kinds of questions being asked is simply not to request earmarks," said Tom Schatz, president of the nonprofit Citizens Against Government Waste. Mr. LaBolt said Mr. Obama has disclosed all of his earmark requests "in a voluntary act of disclosure." In addition, he said, Mr. Obama has since "stopped requesting earmarks and co-sponsored legislation that places a moratorium on earmark requests until proper oversight can be achieved."

I find it interesting that Obama seems to know a good thing when he sees it--AFTER it becomes politically necessary. For example,he was for earmarks before he was against them, he was against the surge before he was for it, he was against offshore drilling before he was for it, he was against government-backed faith-based initiatives before he was for them, etc. etc. etc. McCain was out front on these-- he was a LEADER on these and other issues. Anybody in the press ever highlight this? You talk about flip-flop! B.O. is a FOLLOWER, not a leader, and he will do or say ANYTHING to get elected, including dump Biden and appoint Hillary as VP. Watch Out For This Man!!!

Just so I know, did she - or didn't she - support the infamous "bridge to nowhere" as part of her gubanatorial election campaign?? before Congress opposed it - and after she was elected?? JDG

Just as she assumed office as Governor she apparently supported the Bridge To Nowhere along with Ted Stevens, the Republican Party, AND HUSSEIN OBAMA AND BIDEN. That's right, JDG, your guys voted FOR IT! Then, after she got into office and reviewed it in depth, she BROKE RANKS WITH THE TWO SENATORS FROM ALASKA FROM HER OWN PARTY, AND OBAMA AND BIDEN AND VOTED AGAINST IT!! THERE'S MORAL COURAGE AND REFORM FOR YOU.

Seems like if Clark can raise money for Obama he should be able to reaise money for the museum. And everytime Obama gets caught not practicing what he preaches, we get the "Look Elvis" treatment.

The other day, Jay Leno made a joke. Based on Biden now saying Hillary may have been a better choice, and based on the gaffe's & other issues about Obama being discovered & finally revealed by the media that has for so long covered for him, its possible Democrats should have chosen Hillary in the first place. Leno said, and its possible this could be true.... "If I were Joe Biden, I'd get that VP thing in writing!"
