Gov Palin is terrific. She also married a very good man. She sure made a good choice when she married Todd. Their family works together to solve family problems. They handle small ones like cleaning up after a meal easily. Todd does his part. They cope with big ones like caring for a new special needs infant. Todd again helps and takes leave from his job. They also were able to face down strong political opponents in a gubernatorial race. I hope McCain-Palin win. Americans would see that down to earth people from outside the beltway can successfully lead our country.

The mainstream media's contempt comes not from Palin's inexperience but from her moral and political belief's. Today's world is relative to the social intellect. They alleviate their conscience through consensus. Darwin says only the strongest shall survive and the human social intellect defines the strongest (something to do with them knowing what is best for the individual, rather than the individual). Sarah Palin doesn't believe it and therefore she is going against the social intellect and the mainstream media is the judge and jury of social conscience. That is why they hold her in public contempt, NOT her inexperience.

I've never walked in her shoes, so I don't know how I would decide, but I applaud their courageous choice. Excellent article on the reaction of the press.

MG, you are a cynical cretin. Pure drama? Life is drama. What you cannot stand is someone with true conviction, not the mere show of conviction, like Barak Hussein Obama. What truly frightens the socialist press, and Humanist politicians, is that people -- real people, not elite jetset wannabes -- respect character. Governor Palin is exactly the antithesis of the justly derided and suspect politician; she is a statesman. As usual, Ms. Charen gets it, and puts it beautifully.

The comments of the media "pundits" speak volumes about their lack of character, their elitist attitude and their arrogance. Is it any wonder so many of us hold tabloids like the NY Times in such contempt? Is it any wonder so many of us turn off the TV "news"?

MG,,,she couldn't possibly be anymore shallow then the man who preaches "hope...change"...and then gives the same tired speech we've heard from Kerry, Teddy, Dukakis, and Gore. Oh yeh and tip your hat to a Joe Biden...no insider there. Uhh "where's the beef?"

Just as predicted, it's September and the majority of Americans have awakened. All of Nobama's flowery scripted speeches to handpicked audiences here and abroad have been wasted. The elitists and MSM are absolutely scared witless when confronted with real true Americans like Senator McCain and Gov. Palin. Their empty suited moveon.org creation named BOH will go down in flames. Sorry loony left, that dog will just not hunt anymore.

Mona: You should make a really clean, very high quality copy of this article, frame it and put on your desk as a reminder of what a really talented writer can do when she puts her mind to it. And, when you're finished, run off a few more copies and hand them out to your friends at CNN. You might help them clear the fog from their glasses and start to understand what is really going on with Sarah Palin and the American people. It is clear to me that at this point they don't have a clue.

In fact the press has given this lady a completely free ride. Palin has brazenly exploited her children for political gain. She has used her Down's syndrom child to portray herself as "pro-life" and compassionate. Humbug! The vast majority of US women bear and cherish their special-needs children without using them to claim virtue. More to the political point: Many parents of such children depend on state programmes put in place to help them maximize the talents of their children. In Alaska these programmes were put in place under Democratic administrations against the tooth and nail opposition of Republicans. She has also apparantly pressurized her pregnant child into a hasty marriage for political respectability. This child was 16 when she was impregnated. In most civilized countries where the age of consent is 17 for good reason, "Levi" would not be preparing for marriage. He would be preparing his defence to charges of statutory rape. Finally, doe all this mean that extreme right-wing pundits like Charen will stop lecturing us about feckless pregnant (black, inner-city) teenagers, and the equally feckless (black, inner-city) parents who fail to inculcate restraint and decent values in their children?
