Yes, that is a perfect description.
It's reminiscent of an abuser who becomes indignant when his girlfriend leaves him because of his cruelty, tries to terrify her into coming back to him, then assaults her and tries to ruin her life when she refuses.
Needless to say, if the aggressor hadn't been a cruel abuser, she probably would never have left to begin with, or would at least still be a friend.
The aggressor should shut up, take a good look in the mirror, and back off until they he can clean up his act.
And shouldn't be surprised, in the meantime, if his victim's friends are angry with him and freeze him out.
