Many, if not most, of the Democrat gains last election were by Democrats running as conservatives. "Conservative" Democrats go to Washington and vote with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It's the only way they can have any power. They talk conservative and vote liberal. Republicans should be able to win those districts if they will show they are unashamedly conservative and will support conservative causes and point out how "conservative" Democrats dupe their voters then support liberals Congress.

Correct, Cornelius---The only way Democrats can improve their numbers in Congress is to LIE to their constituents. That doesn't work for long. Some of this must be credited to Sarah Palin, who has energized the Conservative wing of the Republican Party and shifted the burden of proving one's stance to the Democrats who cannot succeed here. Obama, for his part, has the most liberal track record in the US Senate, so not much help can come from him. In fact, Obama is caught between a rock and a hard place because as he shifts to the right, he loses his base, as he tacks back to get those voters, he loses the independents and moderates. You can see his campaign fraying at the edges, particularly among white women who are flocking to McCain-Palin in droves. How does Obama stop the hemorrhaging? He can't.

Politics

Since Obamamania has worn thin and reality has set in - Americans have demonstrated they really do not want a huge government and higher taxes.

MG---"We have all been lied to for the last eight years." You lefties keep thinking this race is between Obama and Bush. BUSH IS NOT RUNNING. You lefties can't get over the fact that Bush won--TWICE! Kerry and Gore lost! GET OVER YOURSELVES, and try to get a candidate that OFFERS SOMETHING BESIDES MORE LIES! That's your dilemma here. And try as you might, even with the help of the entire press, you still haven't proven Bush lied about anything! (Otherwise he would have been impeached, like your redneck from Arkansas). Your biggest problem now is that the subject has moved from "Change" to "Reform". That is the SPECIFIC change Americans want, and B.O.-Hair Plug don't offer that---McCain-Palin OWN THAT MESSAGE.

I agree with Pendamon and Politics I don't want to give my money away to just anyone..I would rather have a choice to where I want to give. Under Obama, I would be taxed so the money can be given to those who don't work..I don't want our country to be a socialist country.

Wondering why the polls always seem to defy the facts? David W Moore spent 13 years as a top editor and executive at the Gallup Organization, one of the most respected names in US polling. His time there led him to this conclusion: pollsters do not just capture public opinion, at times they actually create it. http://www.thenational.ae/article/20080913/FOREIGN/877017812/1042/PAGETHREE

The real McCain is a guy who left his fellow POW's behind in Vietnam (Click the link for info on McCain's connection to Navy pilot, Larry Van Renselaar): http://www.arcticbeacon.com/articles/31-oct-2005.html and walked out on his first wife and kids: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1024927/The-wife-John-McCain-callously-left-behind.html .

To Pendamon - First, check your facts because Gore did win the popular vote in 2000. Want proof? It's all over if you want to look for it which I'd guess you don't. Second, when McCain votes with his buddy Bush over 90% of the time it's a legitimate claim that we're tired of the Bush politics. You must not read much because proof that Bush lied is printed in various books - but I guess that's just an example of the "liberal media" warping our fragile opinions, huh? To Oahukale - what tax bracket are you in because I make under $250,000 and still manage to find time to work - as nearly EVERYONE in the military, police, fire department, teachers and anyone else that belongs to a union. I guess those who are wealthy enough to afford to be a Republican have been lucky the past 8 years, huh? Hey, ever heard of "inclusion"? Probably not...figures.

Hey,TruePatriot---Idiot---This is from your little article that's supposed to make us hate McCain: "Carol (McCain's first wife) insists she remains on good terms with her ex-husband", "Friends confirm she has remained friends with McCain and backed him in all his campaigns", "She says she agreed to talk to The Mail on Sunday only because she wanted to publicise her support for (McCain)". And this: "Indeed, the Mercedes that she uses to run errands displays a sticker encouraging people to vote for her ex-husband. ‘He’s a good guy,’ she assured us. ‘We are still good friends. He is the best man for president.’ ;I AM GOING TO TAKE CAROL MCCAIN'S ADVICE AND VOTE FOR MCCAIN---HOW ABOUT EVERYBODY ELSE???

To Demscaremore... I make less than 75K. Are you going to give me some of your money? I will work less if that's the case. Hand me some of your money. I want it now! You care so much, I want your money now. You must make more than me. You must be a guy, too? You must hate women and you must have not voted for Hillary, too.

The ONLY reason the democrats won in 2006. Was that IRAQ WAR looked like it was a lost cause. 80 plus causalities a month. The endless blood and carnage on the nightly news. EVERY DEMOCRAT RUNNING...SAID "I will end the war" Yea "the cut and run party" was going to "bring peace with honor" Well, They make a big mistake in thinking that Americans are "against the war" while no one likes war. What we really don't like is losing them. The fact that we are wining in Iraq and the high high cost of gas. Which the Republicans can pin on the democratic congress.. You Libs could be in for a big surprise come Nov 7. Out of all the experienced and qualified candidates.. How could you pick some like Obama?? He has nothing to bring to the table, except. He can read a speech? When we question his qualifications, It's an "ATTACK"? I want to be a practicing brain surgeon. Of course I don't have a medical degree. Why should that be a problem??

He "DemsCareMore" (which isn't true, just check how much of their paychecks Obama and Biden donated to charity last year---5.7% and Zero, respectively---MCCAIN GAVE 26% TO CHARITY. REPUBLICANS CARE MORE) ---As for your "facts" about 2000,I guess you missed your civics lesson, Gore's popular vote overall is suspect because in several states Democrat votes were counted that belonged to dead people or convicts, particularly in Wisconsin. Here in America we have the Electoral College. Electoral Votes decide the winner. The reason we have the Electoral College is because we are not one big, fat state (like California). We are 50 "United States" (not 57, like Obama says). That's to prevent the Democrats from loading up on votes in places like Los Angeles and New York to dictate to the rest of the country their values and crap. STATES DECIDE THE ELECTION, THANK GOD, NOT BIG, BLOATED, OVERPOPULATED CONSTITUENCIES IN THE URBS. So, you better check your facts, and, by the way, news flash: GORE LOST. As for Bush and McCain, I am not going to waste space here on arguing McCain is a Maverick and votes against Bush on major issues such as torture, campaign finance, immigration, health care, the surge, etc. because EVERYONE KNOWS MCCAIN FOLLOWS HIS OWN CONSCIENCE. And Obama follows---what?---the political wind? I think Obama votes 90% with Bush, lately, at least one personality of Obama does. He's becoming THE POLITICAL VERSION OF SIBYL, and losing doing it. (Latest poll: McCain now OVER 50% and leading in the Electoral College---remember the Electoral College?)
