This is one of the most useless editorials I've ever read. Where's the beef!?!?
In the end it is how parents raise their children that determines the quality of education. You let a group of monkeys loose in a classroom, tell the teachers that they have to accept the monkeys, and you end up with what we have in our public schools today.
You produce monkeys by allowing children to raise themselves, under the ever-present influence of the television set or video game. Lack of positive parental guidance is the quickest way to produce monkeys.
Parents that have found the schools that don't allow monkeys in the classroom have solved the education problem, at least for their families.
