Obama can't roll back 2nd Amendment rights, but the new Democrat special interest groups in Washington (lawyers) can constrain them and tie them up in court with existing laws and jury shopping (like the city council is doing Washington, D.C. and environmentalists have done with the drilling issue). It's just like Nancy Pelosi implied on releasing the Democrat representatives from their anti-drill pledge, say what you have to in order to get elected and they will fix it after the election.

Obama has no plan other than to continue his liberal view of further entitlements at the tax payers expense. Redistribution of wealth their platform. Let it begin with the politicians who are supported by the tax payer. Let's eliminate 5-6 week vacations by Congress, limousines, 4 star dining at tax payers expense, pay for their own medical, contribute to Social Security, let them take jet blue, southwest ailrines, carry their own luggage etc. and the list goes on. The only politician to consider is one who will work for us and not for their personal gains. It certainly is not Obama! Be cautious of what he does not say!

Anyone who thinks an anti-gun politician has changed his view is dreaming, Obama and Biden will move to re-instate the gun bans and will work to overturn the Supreme Court decision. Remember if they can take away one of our rights protected by the Bill of Rights in the intrest of public safety they can take away all of our rights. Take a good hard look at the hate crime bills and the purposed hate speech bills, it is not just the Second Amendment that is under attack but rather the entire list of rights.

Everytime you turn over more responsibility to the government you give up a portion of your freedom. It is time for all Americans to take responsibility for their actions whether negative or positive. This does not mean there should not be a safety net for those in most need, not for those who work the system of entitlements at tax payers expense. Governments primary role is to provide the umbrella of freedom for every American to pursue their dream. The only obstacle is acheiving those dreams are the mental barriers we place in our own mind. Obama wants to provide for you as he beleives you are unable to provide for yourself. Government is us..we pay for it all..no free lunch.Government stay out of my pocket. Less government not more!!!!

Obama tipped his hand in his speech in San Francisco, where he revealed himself to be an elitist, left-wing snob in the mold of John Kerry. He looks down his nose at rural, small-town, and Western States whites as dumb, prejudiced hicks. No one buys anything anymore from this snake-oil salesman from Illinois. Send him packing.

Woody...I totally agree with you. I want to see online what airline senators take, what limo company they use, what restaurants they eat at. That's our money! redistribution of wealth says Obama...well let's start at the very top, not with people who make $250,000 but with people who make $2,500,000. Let's tax the hell out of them.

In north Florida, the Chosen One has been broadcasting radio commercials by Mr. Ray Schoenke of the anti-NRA, AHSA. Mr. Schoenke, without any evidence, not very convincingly asserts that Obama is really pro-2nd Amendment. People where I live may be country, but they're not gullible. They're not buying what Schoenke is selling. Mr. Obama would best be advised to save his money and spend it elsewhere.

Reality check, folks. Mr. Obama is a run-of-the-mill Marxist: after all, he worked for ACORN for several years [his 'community organizer' days]. Marxists hate the thought of mere folks possessing firearms. After all, when their secret police go to pick up the undesirables, such folks might shoot back! Truly, Mr. Obama desperately wants the 2nd Amendment repealed, as do many of his followers.

MG: I hope you realize that almost all members of gangs in Chicago [and elsewhere] have no LEGAL access to firearms. Almost all the firearms that they acquire are stolen or, in the case of Chicago gangs, purchased from corrupt Chicago cops. Such facts are the root of the relatively old bumper sticker: "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns".

Obama the least qualified of any Presedential candidate campaiging in Los Angeles tonight with the Hollywood crud.Hollywood where sex, violence, degradation of women, drugs, profanity are forms of entertainment portayed on the screen. What garbage are we portraying to our children? Where are the G rated movies? R rated movies are now PG-13. Obama and Hollywood have much in common with their liberal views of America. Connect the dots with Wright, Pflegger, Ayers and the list goes on and he is telling us of change and that he has the judgment. Judgment comes from experience. He has NOTTA! He should stay in Los Angeles with his friends or better yet go back to Germany for an encore.

SDindependent- as you point out, a straw man, indeed: Senator Obama called for commissions on: Social Security (11/2007) torture (9/2007) war crimes (8/2008) financial oversight for Wall Street (4/2008) Of course, this hypocrisy is not unusual: From the Dem/Lib Book of Adages: "ethics for thee but not for me" "1st Amendment for me but not for thee" "race-baiting by me but not by thee"

From the story: “Democrats had hoped to put the issue behind them, with 2004 presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry going so far as to stage a campaign stop in Ohio to go goose hunting - and suffering at the hands of pundits who mocked him for pandering.” This reminds me of Matt Scully’s (writer of Palin's convention speech) article about hunting in which he mentions this Kerry hunting gig. http://www.matthewscully.com/sportsman_politics.htm

Obama is the last thing we need in the presidency or anywhere in government for that matter. He's a proven lying sleezebag and his wife is a flake. Don't 20 years of afiliation with a hate mongering preacher and long term friendship with a domestic terrorist couple say enough about his philosophical orientation and his character? Would he even be in public life were it not for the disfunctional urban Negro culture that is his primary power base? I see in his past affiliations, statements and voting record (what there is of it) much reason to fear that an Obama adminstration's agenda for America would entail a shift of governing philosophy toward the radical left, enabled by the agenda driven judiciary that he will most certainly push through a Democrat congress. Accepting comprimise of our constitutional rights, beginning but not ending with 1st and 2nd ammendments,(fairness doctrine and "gun safety" legislation, respectively) will become the new patriotism. His brand of "HOPE" when subjected to scrutiny is a socialistic formula for a malignant intrusion of government into the way most white middle class Americans are accustomed to negociating their lives. Dr. King's dream could well morph into a bloody nightmare as his duped supporters, particularly working whites, currently intoxicated by his flamboyant immatation of substance awaken to real life in Obamaworld. McCain is no prize, but Obamamamma will take us where we don't want to go.
