Even if Richard Fuld never works again, he will have a posh life on that $22M bonus. And he will make more money when the markets start coming back. Many, many more will not be so lucky.
I am all for people getting wealthy, but it isn't right for someone to scuttle a mega company, and be able to walk away with a cool $22M bonus. It's just wrong. It just keeps happening.
Mr. Pruden: Another fine commentary. You point out there is a "silver lining in the cloud over Wall Street," and besides the ones you describe, another is the $28,500-per-plate dinner which Obama's friends are holding for him tonight in Beverly Hills.
Seems that his friends did fine during the last four years of President Bush, wouldn't you think? Actually, however, there is no silver lining ahead for the Democrats' political zero. He is going to lose in November, and the landslide has already begun.
I don't care much about Fuld's 22 mil. Has anyone noticed that even though the Yanks paid A-Rod 30+ million that they are in danger of not even making the playoffs let alone winning the World Series?
And have you seen how much Hollywood has paid some of its stars this year for films that have flopped?
Times are tough all over.
Do you really think someone with spiky heels is the answer to the financial mess republican deregulation of new deal safeguards on capitalism has brought us too. I hope SandM.com does not take over Americas financial markets. It is a tough problem, not one that lends its self to a trite answer.
I hope everyone has their bucket hats and coveralls with them, with all these chickens coming home the roost the krap is going falling fast and furiously. And no your government is not going to save you – you’ll have to see to that yourself.
If we can get Fuld into a skyscraper, I'll open the window and do the pushing.
