Sorry, you are a day late and a dollar or two short. The Palin phenom is fading away.
All this interest is more negative reaction to her than positive. The over the top audacity of picking a rube
like Palin has created a ton of morbid curiousity. I am one of the morbidly curious, enjoying the celebrity
excitement of getting to know more about her but in no way approving of her as a valid candidate. Many of
us are fearful of someone like Palin leading this country - what a living nightmare! And most of see her
becoming more and more a one dimensional phenom as time goes by and she does and says nothing original
to validate herself. The GOP is her puppet master and she has submitted to this role in her greed for power.
Sad.
I think the more blatant than usual media bias against Palin has opened a lot of people's eyes. They are seeing that most media outlets are an unofficial arm of the DNC. They are seeing the one-sidedness in reporting and reading the comments of left-wing bloggers and realizing that these people are small-minded and filled with hate. They don't present any rational argument to support their positions, just childish name-calling. The silent majority in the middle is starting to get sick of their constant shrieking, "George Bush is evil, and anyone who vote Republican is a big poopie-head." If the left want to act like a bunch of spoiled children, they will have to take a spanking in the fall.
As an independent, the problem with the McCain/Palin ticket is their message, which changes from day to day. And then when you compare their statements from today with what they've said in the past, you're looking at totally opposite views. Videotape doesn't lie and this is going to be a huge problem when people realize they have no credibility whatsoever. I believe this is beginning to be reflected in the polls. Also Palin stonewalling the unanimous bipartisan abuse of power investigation in Juneau isn't helping her anti-corruption image either. She should have taken the slap on the wrist and moved on instead of making it look like there's more to the story than there is. The coverup is always worse than the initial issue, but republicans never seem to learn that.
Mediawatch-who is Nobama's puppet master? It's moveon.org and their fellow travelers along with the loony left greenies, etc. They are very much a danger to America.
JD51-it looks like your abuse of power issue in Alaska is turning out to be a molehill instead of a mountain. What it really was, was a Democrat witchhunt. It's leader was an Obama supporter who was pictured with Obama at a fundraiser. Nice try though.
MediaWatch:
Have you got any polls to show us that backup your claim that Palin is fading?
I'm not the brightest bulb in the bin, but something in the first paragraph of the article doesn't make sense to me:
"Moreover, before the conventions, Democrats were more "enthusiastic" about the presidential campaign by a 57 percent to 39 percent margin. Following the Republican convention, that gap had shrunk to seven points (67 percent to 60 percent)."
Now that could be read two different ways, one makes no sense, one, SLIGHTLY MORE sense.
1: Before the convention, the percentage of enthused Dems was 57 percent, and the percentage of UNenthused Dems was 39 percent. AFTER the convention, the percentage of enthused Dems was 67 percent and the percentage of UNenthused Dems was 60 percent. Correct my math, but isn't that...127 percent? How can 67 percent of people feel one way and 60 percent of people feel the other way? Isn't that, like impossible? And therefore, stupid? So, no, that CAN'T be what Andres meant, that would be ridiculous...right?
Maybe what he meant was:
2: Enthused Dems were at 57 percent before the convention, and after the convention, the percentage of enthused Dems went "down" to 60 percent...apparently AFTER going UP to 67 percent. But 60 percent is still MORE than 57 percent. So, wouldn't that mean that MORE Dems are enthusiastic about Obama NOW, than before the convention, although at a certain point that number was higher still?
However I'm reading this wrong, I'm sure someone will enlighten me. The only other solution is a typo somewhere, maybe with the grammar, maybe with the numbers. But if there's no typo, that means that, well, Andres' whole article is predicated upon by a lie.
Ah, never mind, I get it, now, he's comparing enthusiastic Dems to Repubs, not enthusiastic Dems to unenthusiastic Dems.
Did I hear her say the Palin-McCain administation?
Reminds me of the Cheney-Bush administration.

Excuse me. Why do neo-cons always say the media is unfair. I heard about the Washington Times being neo-con but this is my first time reading the blogs. I got a question. Why are the polls so close? Not only do around 25 percent of Americans watch FOX News Channel on a regular basis, but, from coast to coast, there are more than a thousand far-right talk radio stations occupied by shows that make Morning Joe sound like an Olbermann Special Comment. And 17 percent of Americans are glued to it at work and in their cars. Talkers like Hugh Hewitt, Sean Hannity, John Gibson, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Medved, Bill Bennett and Glenn Beck broadcast on your public air around the clock. Non-stop. Unrelenting. Only interrupted by Accu-weather and traffic. Free to anyone with an AM radio.
I don't know if you've dared to listen to far-right talk radio lately, but I can assure you that they're not ignoring Senator Obama -- or his family. Put it this way: if you only got your news and opinions from talk radio, you'd probably believe that Senator Obama is some kind of foreign-born baby-killing Manchurian Candidate terrorist -- if not a sexist uppity black man who, if he loses in November, will incite race riots in every city.
Could it be -- I don't know, just a hunch -- that the opinions of perhaps a third of all Americans are shaped by FOX News Channel, cable news shows like Morning Joe and, especially, far-right talk radio? Could it be that the lies and blind-patriotism of these far-right propagandists are painting an historic, brilliant, accomplished, patriotic presidential candidate as some kind of Bin Laden meets Farrakhan chimera? 24 hours a day? In every town in the Union? Distracting Americans from this economic crisis and skewing their priorities -- making pocketbook issues seem less important than bull..it lies. And political hacks still wonder why half of Americans vote against their financial interests every two years. Joe Scarborough still wonders out loud why Senator Obama isn't 20 points ahead in the polls.
Riddle me this. Given the ideological landscape of cable news, talk radio and the nefarious lie-based caricature therein of Obama as a black-power, fetus-crushing terrorist, why isn't John McCain 20 points ahead in polls?
To sherard--Could it be that a third of Americans listen to talk radio and "Fair and Balanced" Fox News, for just that reason---that they believe it's the only way they can get any reporting that is Fair and Balanced? Could it be you are showing your biases?
Could it be that that third cannot abide the warped,left-wing propaganda now dominating the network, old-media outlets like NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, etc.? Could it be that their characterization of B. Hussein Obama (that's his name) is more correct than yours? Could it be that Obama is the worst candidate ever run by one of the two major parties, ever? Could it be that people are sick and tired of having his candidacy SHOVED DOWN OUR THROATS? What if it's the other way around, sherard? What if over a third of America (at any one time) has to turn somewhere to hear views that coincide with their own opinions, views, observations and the MSM isn't cutting it? That's my situation, and I am apparently not alone---TWO-THIRDS of America thinks the media are trying to SHOVE OBAMA DOWN OUR THROATS. You think there isn't going to be a rebellion come Election Day?
