It is not just the Black Sea but Putins overall energy intimidation strategy. Someone needs to brief the presidential candidates and the Congress and especially Nancy Pelosi (her threat analysis capabilities are limited to blame Bush) on energy independence as a national security threat. Very soon, the U.S. is going to have to make some tough decisions. An environmental energy plan 10 years from now will not get the job done.
Our economic stability in Latin America is the stability of Russia in the Caucasus. Our world can not be equivalent. Let the U.S. get their area of interest, while Russia will get his.
