We trusted Bush once before, in 2003. Turns out it was all a ruse and now he's saying 'Trust Me' again. What was it he once said, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice.......you can't fool me again?" look like he is trying. What a hoodwink on the American people, bailing out the greedy gamblers. But then, they must be republicans.

jbop---You must not have, or care about, any retirement plans, 401k's, or any dividends. You also most likely do not own a house or have a mortgage, or care about your job. This "bail-out" (as they are calling it, even though Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were always backed by the US Government), is to stabilize the entire economy and prevent a Depression. Remember something called "The Depression"? You would like that to happen? If you recall, The Depression hit not only Republicans but also Democrats, Independents, Socialists, Communists, Capitalists--- Everybody. So, this plan doesn't just "bail out the greedy gamblers"---it bails out everyone.

This is a bailout for people with a gambling addiction I can't believe that America is getting screwed by its own president. Thanks a lot, republicans! You and your deregulation!

This is an attack on the free market by Democrats to socialize business. Democrats are self serving socialists who will all profit while putting the American people in the poorhouse. The socialist Democrats will also set themselves up as the saviors promising to take money from the rich so we will ALL BE EQUALLY POOR.That is not an America I want to live in.

Was there any doubt the Democrats would screw up the bailout? Congress could not run a dougnut stand profitably even if everyone paid in advance. Incompetent morons who should be fired but in Washington pay for performance is a phrase only to those outside the Washington Beltway. Outside the Beltway the tax payer/non-member pays for the Washington elite club.

If the Democrats insist on pushing these add ons, particularly the relief for individual mortgage loans, there will be hell to pay. The polls are very clear that 90 plus percent of Americans are against such a scheme. Senator McCain addressed Congress and warned about Fredie Mac and Fannie Mae problems two years ago and the Democratic congress did nothing. Perhaps because Democratic Senato Dodd (with his still uninvestigated sweetheart mortgage deal) was the number one recipient of political contributions from these two organizations. By the way, Obama was the number two recipient with over $125,000.00 of contributions. Are the Democrats so stupid that they do not realize only 5% of mortgages are problematic. When they start providing relief to this group, they are going to have to answer to the 95% who are keeping up with their mortgages and this group will not be happy with the Democrats.

Dodd and Schumer need to go to jail NOT tell us how Bush screwed things up. And NOT tell us how THEY will fix things. They need to go to jail.
