Let's not forget it was Senator McCain who was censored for "poor judgment" in the Lincoln Savings and Loan debacle. His record speaks for itself. Senator McCain has no credibility in this area. Anyone who claims to have come up overnight with a solution to the current financial problems has to be a danger to the future of this nation. This is not leadership, it's the Bush approach to everything - shot from the hip, to hell with data and analysis. Has Sarah gone AWOL? (I will not be voting for Obama in November.) Concerned in Ohio

machafff - maybe you're jumping to conclusions. The article didn't say Sen McCain came up with a plan overnight. The housing/banking/finance mess has been percolating for many, many months, and I'd like to think the senator's campaign advisors and senatorial staff *have been* looking closely at it.

Obama should be shakin' in his shoes...unless he gets some paid-off moderator to help him out. Then maybe, just maybe he wouldn't look so inept.

In my point of view by reading this article, each of compatitors are looking at the presidential chair in different tendencies. The aimable prospective now shall be pursued on American's behalf. And I think A president who is looking after his own benefits at first without considering others as part of it, it's such a massive failure for the million votes that trusted him plotically and led him to be sucessfully a right candidate for the position he'd held, financial concerns is the the first issue shall be looked over to push off country to the development in different sectors, human rights, a reasonable restriction shall be made to let others aware of the political system and spread justice every part of the country. I think there is no such an advantage of surging troops in Iraq, it will cause intensive war and seperating generation from their family for a killing game only. its not really pleasable to hear murders news of anyone whether from any nationality it comes from, I think it's better to give for a break to think wisely of the consequences and count it in a rightous direction. reform operations is recommendable and it supportive point to lift up economy to a better stage with a successful plan, it's worthless to become a president today with a brutal strategy in the world. just to show up that you are commander and leader does not mean you must turn the world forcely to get it right. the president is known with his commitment to rule and deserved to be a leader when its noticed all it comes beside his generation. I think what we are looking for is peace with every country, and what is war resulted for all just death and hatred. if you think of it wisely you will find it as a final point that everyone dream about as a bright future of his country and his people, I direct my letter to the future president use your knowledge and experience in fairness not against not for destruction and drastic loss. be committed for each one who voted and trusted you as leader of millions not just a leader but as a honorable leader.

Obama's 'sound' business practices: making a home purchase 'sound' affordable, when sound, empirically tested risk evaluation says it's not. Oh, and then giving away free money to keep people in houses they couldn't afford in the first place. Oh, and then giving away free money to the house-flippers as well. Sounds kind of ... unsound.

Hours after McCain referred to the fundamentals of our economy, the one that last week was in the worst state it has been in decades, as "strong," he flip-flopped, to use a Republican term, and said our economy was in a "total crisis." So, to the person posting under the name "Bernanke," try and better understand what's going on here. The market by no means has stabilized to a point of normalcy, and McCain has absolutely no idea how to handle the matter. Furthermore, if Obama got his "little skinny butt" kicked by Hillary, then she must not have kicked hard enough. Where's she at now? I for one cannot wait to see McCain shrivel under the pressure of the debates. Hopefully the American public will finally realize how utterly ignorant it would be to elect McSame into the White House.

Wow, colinskik---you really got the facts screwed. In fact, McCain said IN THE SAME SENTENCE as his often mis-quoted remark that "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" that these are "very very difficult times". He said it in the SAME SENTENCE that you lefties had to surgically remove. So, go back and check the record, Idiot or Liar--whichever. Now, after he said that, the Market rebounded--hmm, I wonder why. McCain averted a panic. Obama and the Democrats WANTED A PANIC. McCain has issued statements daily on the economy and offered a plan---Obama responded in his usual way: "Present" (or perhaps it was "Uh-uh-the economy is above my pay grade") and nothing else. I think it's clear who the leader is here.

How do you feel Obama will fare in a debate with McCain since Mr. Obama speaks from prepared text very well, but may not be as adept at speaking extemporaniously as Mr. McCain is?

You’re probably an Obama supporter if: 1) You’re a fervent viewer of Project Runway 2) You have, at some point in the last six months, used the word “fierce” in conversation 3) You’ve never actually spent time with a person of color who wasn’t caring for your children/cleaning your house/delivering drugs to you 4) You hate Bush for Iraq, but would like to see the U.S. Army invade Darfur/Tibet 5) You’re a “Feminist,” but hate Sarah Palin and Condi Rice 6) You have ever paid more than $5 for coffee and then sipped it while reading the NYT 7) You believe Islam is a religion of peace, but Christianity is a religion of hate and violence 8) You hate O’Reilly/Fox News, but tune in to Olbermann/MSNBC every night 9) You’re passionately pro choice except in instances when the fetus has DS (in which case the mother should be forced to abort) 10) You’re a proud atheist, but love the Dalai Lama 11) You spent more than $1,000 at Barney’s last year, but are sympathetic to the ideas of Marx/Engels 12) You’re an “environmentalist” who has never been camping 13) You drive a Subaru 14) You like to be snarky on Gawker (anonymously, of course) 15) You tell friends that you like jazz 16) You loved The Grey Album, but can’t stand Jay Z’s regular music 17) You have a strident opinion regarding community theater 18) You shop at Whole Foods and/or subscribe to The New Yorker 19) You’re pro gay rights so long as the gay in question isn’t Republican 20) You’re anti globalization, but wear Prada

Of course, Barack Obama is so confident ... LOL ... in his ability to speak without a teleprompter that he was gung-ho to engage McCain in the town hall debates ... NOT !! Obama is a joke. Just saw him for a minute on TV in Wisconsin. Getting cheers for his "speech". Put an idiot in front of a teleprompter and the Democratic lemmings will cheer anything.

The greatest threat to National Security is the current financial meltdown which happened on the Republican watch…because of incompetence, unAmerican greed and utter stupidity, and it will resonate loud and clear on November. 4th --– get use to it folks –-- On Tuesday January 20th 2009, at exactly 12:00 noon, you will hear the following words…… ” I Barack H. Obama, as President of these United States, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” The Chief Justice: “Congratulations Mr. President” The US Army will then lead the salute…”Preeeeseeent Arms! ……while the US Marine Band strikes: “Hail to the Chief!” as an US Air Force F-22 formation flies overhead…… say it...Say It....SAYIT!!!! It's President Obama - Commmander in Chief of these United States of America GOBAMA 08 !!!!

Amazing the ignorance of the dumb masses. you either have tool #1 Achowdhury2 stating your either racist or categorizing you as racist if you do not agree with him/her/it and tool #2 Psygone using a play on words with his name telling you that this is the way it is going to be. Call me crazy, but I will look for all the "facts" before making my decision. It looks like these two morons are not helping Obama one bit with the race baiting and retarded statements with no factual basis. Please, if your going to vote, vote with actual facts, not what these two sheeple are doing.

Some Simple Rules: A national sales tax (no income tax) - Everybody pays the same! If you cannot afford it - Don't sign for IT! No coffee is worth $2 a cup - unless t it has some good Irish whiskey in it. Oil $100 a Barrel = Wheat at $100 a Bushel! Illegal Aliens go home! - Our welfare recipients will do those jobs! Workfare -Not Welfare! This is going to hurt - DRIVE AMERICAN! Drill here, Drill now! Cancel foreign Aid - No more Buying allies Investigate this Mae / Mac now! - Taxpayers want to know who has been behind it. Do it before Election Day (yeah right). Baseball and steroids are more important? How about one type of 87 octane, not 27. - pick the cleanest. 87 octane @ $4 a gallon = 93 Octane @ $8 a gallon (you do not need 300hp+ to sit in traffic, unless you have a small pee-pee) Thank a Veteran - You'll feel good!

colinskik: YOU FELL FOR THE DEMOCRAT/OBAMA LIE!!!!! Obama's people CUT McCain's STATEMENT IN TWO PARTS (to make him sound bad) and YOU FELL FOR THEIR LIES!!!! WOW, if the Republicans pulled something like this, you would be screaming bloody murder, NOT QUOTING THEM! TRY BEING FAIR!! Oh, that's right, Obama can't be fair and still have anything to say. REMEMBER, he didn't get here until he was EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OLD, which is why he thinks there are 57 states, and why he can't tell the difference between Memorial Day and Veteran's Day, and why he doesn't know which states touch Illinois!! OBAMA ISN'T EVEN AFRICAN AMERICAN!! HE IS AN ARAB, RAISED BY MUSLIMS, IN INDONESIA!! Obama is such a bad speaker, he has to take his teleprommpter TO A RODEO!!! WHAT A loser!!!! HE NEVER EVEN PASSED ANY LEGISLATION IN THE US SENATE!!! Can you imagine a "legislator" with ZERO LEGISLATION WHO THINKS HE SHOULD BE PRESIDENT!!

To psygone: Last time I checked, the democrats hold the majority in the house and in the senate. I guess the meltdown happened on both the Republican and Democratic watch. For your additional info, Obama opposed the regulations on Fannie and Freddie that could have averted this crisis. Don't let the facts get in the way of your opinions. For real change vote 'em all out down to the local dog catcher. Let's impose our own term limits and eliminate the aristocracy in Washington and in our own states.
