Senator Reid does not believe in pursuing all possible energy resources. Sen Reid seems to have a preference for those that require federal subsidies. That way he can influence who gets the funding and control who will be winners and losers. He wants to control the direction of the State supported plans. Reid is not concerned about economic effectiveness or energy efficiency. He wants to control the energy economy.

"oil shale extraction has not been proven to be economically viable, will produce more greenhouse gases, and will significantly decrease the West's water supply," How can oil shale cause greenhouse gases or decrease the water supply if it's not economically viable, you dimwit? If it's not viable, why lock it up? Reid is an idiot.

Giving more money to Democrats who caused this economic crisis? Looks like these Democrats actually think the American people are even dumber than they are.

Wow. What are the Democrats thinking? Introducing a bill to SPEND more of our taxpayer money - over $50 billion more. Is this really their strategy? We are over 10 trillion dollars in debt. We are losing our respect and power in the world. I am looking to McCain, Gingrich, and Shelby to team up on solving this problem.

Underneath this economic crisis is an even larger volcano. Energy is the foundation for our economic engine. Therefore energy independence in the current situation is one of biggest national security vulnerabilities. The Democrats seem to think that in today's environment it could never happen to America, the imported oil will continue to flow to the U.S. and Europe. Somehow they think that greenhouse gases and wind turbines will solve our energy independence problem. I really think Putin disagrees based on his actions. He isn't moving out Georgia because of vicinity control of the BTC pipeline. He isn't moving into Venezuela because Chavez is such a wonderful despot. He isn't selling anti-air weapons systems to Iran to keep the Straits of Hormuz open. All of these contingency plans are in place and waiting for the events. The Democrats continency plans consist of supporting a global warming state of fear and power ascension through blame politics and opportunism in the current financial crisis. If we compound an energy crisis with a financial crisis the Democrats will essentially drive the U.S. into a depression. Perhaps that is Reid and Pelosi's final objective.

Pelosi, Reid, Frank and Obama are Democrats who keep on trying to make America dependent on foreign oil and hurt the American economy. Look at how Putin of russia is placing a noose around our necks going into Latin America with Chevaz and missiles to Iran. Energy for America has to be developed in America so the dependence on foreign supplies are stopped.

No way! Reid and Pelosi are PORKING this thing up? Where ya been? I've been predicting this since day 1 of this bailout garbage. THIS, boys and girls, is what is known as, an OPPORTUNITY. Helloooo? Mr. President? John McCain? Republicans? They think that this bailout is TOO IMPORTANT to VETO, just because there's a few goodies in there for some of their friends. Show them how WRONG they are. And when you DO, let the American People know WHO is to blame. Let them know that the DEMOCRATS are INCAPABLE of sending up a bill, even a bill to fix a problem of THIS MAGNATUDE, without LARDING it up with TAXPAYER MONEY for their OWN INTERESTS. DO NOT PANIC. They will blame YOU, but you are holding ALL THE CARDS. They will provide you with a Propoganda GIFT, like you've never seen before. Trust me.

Once again, the Democrats are the party of technological backwardness and willful ignorance. The technology for oil shale extraction has come a long way from the 1980's. Australia is utilizing oil shale in Queensland, and even newer technologies are being employed in Canada. Harry Reid is a know-nothing on this issue.

This is why democrats cannot be in control of anything. All they do is vacuum the taxpayers dry and screw everything up. The democrats show why they are the lowest rated Congress in history. They are a bunch of do-nothing losers. Oh yeah, Obama is a democrat and feels a debate is more important than fixing the economy.

How are hundreds of millions of dollars (330 Million+) to consolidate DHS on the historic campus of St. Elizabeths going to stimulate the economy? It's absurd. Congress should make DHS find a location that doesn't require the restoration and adaptive re-use of 66 buildings with new construction of close to 6.3 million square feet - costing tax payers hundreds of millions of dollars right now and billions over the next 20 years while destroying a National Historic Landmark and the topographic bowl that makes Washington unique. Build it cheaper somewhere else!

This bailout will be paid for by the sale of public lands. This has been a plan of Harry Reid and others for years. http://articles.latimes.com/2006/jun/06/nation/na-landbill6 Who will buy the land? The ones with the money. As we cross over into Fascism the constitution will be suspended, we will come under the rule of the U.N.

The Democrat controlled Congress has the majority and can pass this bailout on their own. The problem is, they want Republicans to agree to it so the Democrats do not take the fall when this fails. We the people will get screwed by this bailout. John McCain's goal is to have both sides work this out without hurting us taxpayers. Democrats want money, money, money and proof is in the pudding because this same Democrat run Congress is also asking for an additional $56 Billion.
