This is a well written and well-documented warning to the electorate. Biden may, indeed, be a joke. But, it is not at all funny imagining him and the Anointed One in the White House.

John McCain did not put 'Country First' when he selected his running mate Sarah Palin. He put winning first, and every American should outraged by it. I don't care if Biden bumbles, says the wrong thing, says too much. He's got experience. And it's a heck of a lot better than not knowing anything. Palin's three interviews have been excruciating to watch - she can't answer simple national or international policy questions. She is an embarrassment to America and should step down now. Even conservative columnists like George Will and Kathleen Parker are talking about a replacement. Your column sounds like desperation to me. Barack Obama, like him or not, will be the next president. And Joe Biden - perhaps a bumbler, but also a magnificent human being - will be the next vice-president. John McCain could have become president - if he had kept his maverick status and not sold his soul to the right-wing conservatives two elections ago. And - he might have been elected had he not selected an imbecile as a running mate. How stupid do people think we are? And you talk about Joe Biden being a bumbler?

Yes, Joe Biden is a bit of a buffoon, but no more so than the guy on the top of the ticket. Obama has made about as many gaffes as Biden, between his assertion that the health crisis could be solved by giving asthmatic children ''breathalyzers'' and saying he'd been to all 57 states. The media is quick to gloss over it...''Oh, that's just Joe being Joe'' or ''Obama must be tired'' but they can't keep the doofus brothers from being a laughing stock. What's NOT funny is the cause of our current economic woes, explained here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5tZc8oH--o

Buffoon or Ignorant. Which do you prefer? I like Palin's guts, but she is not familiar with the national stage -- whereas at least Biden knows what the issues are. Even I, with my business and Middle East politics background, would make a better candidate than Palin -- even though I've never run for a public office. I was very disappointed to hear how her interviews unfolded. I fully understand how camera spotlights create a stammering, brain blanking effect -- not to mention the additional pressure of tongues wagging and keyboards tapping about your every move. While living in the Middle East, I gave several internationally televised interviews -- and they were not even on important world issues. But I could've been talking about how brush your teeth correctly and it did not reduce the crushing pressure produced by the knowledge that millions were watching! So with all that said, I cannot understand WHY McCain chose Palin when her experience has been limited to such a small range of local issues. She is blowing hot air on every international issue but Alaskan oil drilling. She doesn't even know the difference between Iran and Iraq. (FYI, they have very different histories and cultures. Iranians are Persians and their language is more closely related to Europe. Iraqis are Arab and the language they speak is so close to Israel's that they share many of the same words.) Culture and language aside, ignorance on Middle Eastern regional differences will only inflame their perception of our intentions. If you think Americans are odd for our 9/11 conspiracy theories, try the crazy theories you'll hear on streets from Baghdad to Beirut. They certainly have a lot more injustice to try and sort out than we do. The corruption and dysfunction they deal with on a daily basis is magnified by our ignorance of it. So we are natural targets. Add Palin to the equation and you will find our negotiating position far weaker than we have ever been in the history of the USA. So, despite you're well-written diatribe, this blond American is still quite comfortable voting for Obama/Biden '08.

The Democrats saying that "thats just Joe being Joe" sort of reminds me about Bill Clinton's response to Sandy Berger stuffing all those stolen classified documents into his pants and socks. Clinton said "Thats just Sandy being Sandy"

It almost seems as if Biden is trying to force his way out of the nomination. Don't count Hillary out.

I agree with your assessment, Mr. Kuhner. Biden is a buffoon, to the point that everyone accepts it, and the joke isn't on B. Hussein Obama alone, but on the whole blindly arrogant and ignorant Democrat electorate, who rail against Palin's lack of experience, yet overlooks the worst Democrat nominee in history, in terms of experience and judgment. Obama cannot begin to match John McCain in experience and judgment --- the debate showed that, and a majority of Americans recognize this, too, not those questioned in all those rigged and misleading polls that show Obama leading, simply because there are more registered Democrats voters questioned. Obama will lose in November, and likely by a landslide.

Chia Pet Joe is always good for a laugh, I like him alot. But as VP, that's not a laughing matter.

Sadly we all know none of this will ever be in the MSM...their to busy covering their candidates of choice. Keri and Sd I believe the article above is meant for you two. Biden "is a wonderful man"? I bet the dead folks in Asia would disagree. He may have experience...but it's not the kind I'm looking for.

Hey jenniferljl: I'm voting McCain-Palin so you can count your vote as being cancelled out.
