I have sent this to many newspapers and news channels: VOTE OUT ALL Senators and Congressman that voted for or against the BAIL OUT. The Congress just passed the bail out bill. Congress is now blowing smoke up our... To keep those who are up for election from losing their jobs they made a deal to have only those who were not up for election to approve the bill. Again they think we are stupid or gullible. It is time to show them who really runs this country. The People. Everyone knows that 99% of the American public opposed any bail out of Wall Street and have contacted their Senators and Congressman in this opposition in unprecedented numbers. Obviously the passage of the bail out demonstrates that we voters are being ignored or placated by Congress. The only way we can express our displeasure is exercise our voting rights to unseat the Congressman and Senators that are running for office on November 4, 2008 even if they did not vote for the bail out! I urge anyone voting to express your displeasure this way or Congress will just keep doing what they want not what we THE PEOPLE want. Bill Betts Redding, Ca 96001-3708

The Congress of the United States wants us to feel good about a deal made by some of the most incompetent leadership in history. It is time for a change alright, time to change the way Congress does business. It's time for a change in congressional leadership. It's time to get new ideas in Congress, at least every eight years. It's time for national term limits.

There's no way I'm going to vote for anyone who approves of a bailout. Just look at total US debt - it's 350% of GDP, and private debt is 100% of GDP. That's more (in both areas) than before the Great Depression. We're in for a huge crash, folks, and taking on more debt is only going to make it worse when it finally arrives. Make no mistake. Personally, I have no debt myself, just my country's debt. I'm incredibly angry at the idea of being forced to pay for someone else's, with Congress arguing that if I don't I'll lose my job or my money next week instead of next month. Bring on the correction! And it's time to vote these people out of office. Plus, a major cause nobody's talking about is our immigration problem. Think of all those illegal immigrants who took on subprime loans from banks, knowing that even if they couldn't pay them back they weren't personally at any extra risk given their precarious legal status. 13 million illegal immigrants in our country, that's our best guess anyway. We shouldn't blame them for making rational decisions, we should blame the bankers, but ASAP we've got to either make these people citizens or kick them out, before they push our economy off a cliff.

Pig in a Poke As the self-serving dance between failed politicians and failed financial institutions wags us taxpayers, investors, and especially retirement investors to sleepless nights of exhaustion, the only thing that truly is clear is that us taxpayers are being asked to buy a Pig (with or without lipstick) in a Poke. Consider two undisputed facts: (a) no one knows how to correctly value the currently unmarketable mortgage debt; and (b) no one knows how to value the inscrutable financial instruments derived from and based upon this same unmarketable mortgage debt. Rather than make taxpayers take the fall, I believe that the actors and institutions that participated in this white collar crime should take the fall both financially and personally. If government is going to protect anyone, it should protect innocent citizens while simultaneously punishing those who have lied to and taken advantage of the trusting and unsuspecting. Gordon E. Finley

If there were ever a true flock of turkeys it is in this photo shot. The very ones who were part of this financial mess (all to blame not just Republicans) have the solution. You went into my pocket once, lost my money now you want to go back in my pocket again saying trust me? Mr. Magoo is an absolute disgrace and it began with Fannie/Freddie with Barney saying no crisis. The second clue was Countrywide. Two glaring signs that went unnoticed. OUR SO CALLED LEADERS . THEY COULD NOT MAKE A PROFIT WITH A HOT DOG STAND EVEN IF THE CUSTOMERS PAID IN ADVANCE!!! TRUST ME WITH 700 BILLION IT WILL NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON YOUR POCKET. SNAKE OIL SALESMAN.

The Washington club of non-performers inside the beltway supported by the tax payers / non members outside the beltway. Golden Parachutes..who has it better? Either way politicians walk away with all the perks. Pay for performance does not exist in Washington. Sad day in this country...

If you ever wondered before, now you know--- our elected officials think we are dumb and will take anything they put on us. No more. Those days are dead.

Watching the major media such as CNN and FoxNews, you can hardly tell that the people are so angry. The media ignores the people just like our congress is doing. Time for some accountability.

Can you believe this outright lie by Pelosi --- "at the end of the day, there really are no taxpayer funds at risk here". How arrogant to believe that we are so stupid. Vote out the incumbents.

Sorry, but the facts on the ground don't jive with the ubiquitous forecasts of liquidity crisis, cash crunch, impending doom, etc. [like Y2K?] In retrospect, the "intelligence" on this is going to make the pre-2003 forecasts on Iraq look prescient. If the conventional wisdom is true and the banks don't have money to lend, why is JPMChase sending out solicitations to its customers BEGGING us to BORROW MORE money at close to zero interest rates??? Why are we not reading lots of sob stories in the newspapers [and seeing them on tv] of all the unfortuantes trying unsuccessfully to buy houses because they can't get mortgages??? BEACUSE THE GOV'T AND MEDIA ARE DIVORCED FROM REALITY. [and of course the BANKS WANT the bailout, so they are not going to tell us otherwise]

It is not a question of failure, nor is it a question of a change in Washington--it is a question of PUTTING PEOPLE BEHIND BARS! And we can start with these four people here. We need an investigation--no, a TRIBUNAL, like they had during the French Revolution, and we need a GUILLOTINE--or a FIRING SQUAD. Line them up in front of the Capital Building and teach those who come after a valuable lesson in Civics. Like they did with Ceaucescu in Romania.

The only way they can justify a 700 billion bailout is if they admit it was an intentional attack by the Chinese, Russians and corrupt U.S. officals. And the money is to prevent the foreign ownership U.S. We can already see the domino effect with Wachovia. Perhaps we can continue the practice Carter & Clinton initiated of trading troops for U.N. cash. Blood money. What is the difference between Hitler & the U.S. Congress? Hitler put his country & people first when faced with the EXACT same threat form the Exact same people. What is it going to take for people to see whose responsible for this? When they paint the White House red?

Pendamon is right here. The Grand Poohbahs and Exalted Lizards in Washington do not yet understand the anger among the populace. Unfortunately, they won't get it until the country erupts in violence and then they will be stunned at the reaction of the American people.
