Poncho Villa lives! Just in time for Obama to make a dashing raid into Mexico to quell the lawlessness! After weeks and months and even years of the drug lords of Mexico fighting a war with each other, the Mexican police and military, this is finally a problem that Obama needs to solve? Obama is as likely to attack Vermont as he is to solve a cross-border drug war. Actually, he may refer it to the World Criminal Court - or better - call for the creation of a ceasefire and ask Jimmy Carter to mediate. This will surely be right in the top 1,000 of his things to do list. The obvious answer for the US will escape his Administration.

It's time we got tough with the border trash. Make the penalty for illegal entry 6 months hard labor and what ever funds you are carrying. Put the people to work building the wall and use their funds to help pay the cost When completed it should be a wall that will resist armed attacks and fortified to repel an invasion which is what we have. Close all crossing points in populated areas and establish a few in isolated areas where approach can be covered by necessary force,

Prescription Drugs Kill 300 Percent More Americans than Illegal Drugs do !! The DEA is a shameful wasteful criminal waste of Taxpayers money.

Love Cedarhills comments. How can this be a Mexican drug war when they are fighting in Phoenix, Arizona?

Until all "drugs" are legalized or decriminalized, this problem will not go away. The problem stems from the profit to be gained by criminals, not from the desire to use (in some cases abuse) "drugs". Building a fence will not stop the problem -- what a stupid idea! I agree with HouseBird -- the DEA is a shameful and criminal waste of Taxpayers money and should be abolished immediately.

Fact.- Illegal immigration will end when the employers cease to offer (and exploit) work undocumented workers, in the north county the affluent folks (many against Illegal immigration) are the same that hire these individuals to clean their pools, clean their backyards and do manual work around their home, so what gives? Fact.- The war on drugs will end whenh WE as a country no longer creave the poison they sell

We know how Obama will handle this situation. He will vote "present", then HOPE for a CHANGE we can BELIEVE IN. And then keep looking for a community to organize.

Not all mexicans are bad so people need to stop blaming all of the mexicans. Its one thing that SOME people from mexico or other places are transporting drug to the US.Another is that you against all mexicans and start offending. So get your information straight. Its freedom of speech. So here is my oppinion.I do belivie Obama going to stop this problem but some people are addicted to drugs they will keep buying.:(

And George Bush says "Here Obama I'm giving you yet another problem I've been unable to deal with." How will we ever clean up Bush's mess?

Here we go again. Moaning and groaning about the corruption and violence caused by black marketeers. But wait a minute! What causes black marketeers? In the 1920s and 30s we fought the violence and corruption of alcohol smuggling gangs like that of Al Capone with every force we had. But nothing helped. People kept on drinking and the devastation continued. The ONLY thing that ended the problems was to end alcohol prohibition. Ending marijuana prohibition is the only thing that will end it now - on the Mexican border and in all the cities of the U.S. What's doubly ironic is that marijuana prohibition is not only a monstrously destructive fraud (since marijuana is non-addictive and far less harmful than alcohol), it is also a counter-productive fraud. That is, it doesn't even work at accomplishing its main goal - reducing marijuana use. - In the Netherlands, where marijuana use is legal, they have HALF the consumption as the U.S. We will never solve this problem until we realize that powerful, wealthy interests are perpetuating this bloody fraud just to line their own pockets.

That loser G. Bush had eight years to deal with this problem and he's only made it worse -- like everything else. Now he wants to give advice to a real President? No thanks
