Like, ah, I have, you know, like way more qualifications to , ah, be, you know, a senator in, ah, that senate thing, and ah, I would appreciate Gov. Paterson's, you know, ah, appointment because I am, you know, a parent too in these changing times. Thank, you know, you.

Caroline Kennedy has done more for the State of New York than those who would be critical of her selection may be aware of... take a moment to refresh your knowledge of her accomplishments for the State of New York.

We just elected a president and vice president with no executive experience and suddenly everyone is in a tizzy over appointing Kennedy. Congress is a circus and our Senators are a joke. One more clown won't make a difference.

Re: Caroline Kennedy - What you outline is totally possible...but if Caroline Would make a good (competent, effective, and not corrupt senator)--does it matter? A recent poll gave her a 52% national approval rating (although interestingly, the approval rating is lower among NYers). John Tantillo did a post on his marketing blog on the Caroline Kennedy "brand"--predicting that Caroline would be not only Senator but the first female president. For one thing--she's a Kennedy; for another, Obama's win has altered the political landscape. An underdog will now meet with fewer nay-sayers on the way up. Tantillo also talks about how Kennedy, like Obama and Ron Paul, will be able to use push vs. pull marketing: "Traditionally, push marketing was about getting the consumer (or the voter) to buy your product (or candidate) by having a third party push your product (or candidate) on the Target Market. This cost a lot of money because in effect, these third parties had to be paid up-front, typically in the form of commission. What we’re seeing these days is the revolutionary use of pull marketing. Voters know what kind of candidate they want, and they are seeking that candidate out." I hear Jesse Jackson, Jr. is still available. Looks like the choice come down to "blue blood" or "black skin" not competence and experience.

“…a group of black women is urging New York Gov. David Paterson to appoint Caroline Kennedy to fill the Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton …” – will racism never end in this country? Does this sentence sound ok to you: “A group of white men is urging New York Gov. David Paterson to appoint Caroline Kennedy to fill the Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.” What’s the difference? Both are exclusive and racially charged statements, causing both pain and anger to the offended parties. I guess the race-baiters were elsewhere during the recent discussion of 'change’ in this country.

WE’RE SUPPORTING CAROLINE KENNEDY I crossed over in this election to support Barack Obama, at a function hosted by my Sister-in-law, Congresswoman Diane Watson, (D - CA.33rd), in the early Summer of 2007, before my move to Georgia. It was intended as just a "foray" to accomplish one objective: To get a brilliant young African-American, with a gorgeous wife and adorable children, elected to the Presidency. My attraction and infatuation to his candidacy, had more to do with his "family situation" than anything else. Over the last 16 months or so, I gained a new perspective of where Barack Obama and his Party were now as compared with where the Party used to be. I watched, as Barack Obama, with the help of other crossovers like me, won victory after victory in the primaries. I watched, with some amazement, as we met The Clinton Machine in full gear and soundly defeated them. My wife, Wyllene Watson-Wilfong, and I watched as dozens of Obama staffers and volunteers stayed at our home here in Savannah, GA. We hosted 2-3 of them at a time, for periods of one-two days, almost two months for two of them. We watched as they went to South Carolina, then back to Georgia, then on to Texas, Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and North Carolina. During the National Elections, a dozen or so of "our kids" were poised all over the country, in the battleground states. And, they did what they needed to do leading up to on election day. They were part of that magnificent Obama ground troop organization. There are many things that are somehow different than when I first made this foray into Democratic land. Having a solid “team in Congress”, as Barack Obama takes over a ship that is in dire straits, through economic crisis, and Wall Street bailout, is absolutely essential. Having Caroline Kennedy as a part of that team, would help tremendously. We at the National Association of Small Disadvantaged Businesses (NASDB) do not make political endorsements. However, we do support folk that we feel have earned that support, by virtue of their exhibition of qualities and standards which are similar to, and supportive of that which we champion. Caroline Kennedy is of good family stock, that no one can refute. She is a bright and intelligent human being, as she’s exhibited, in her support of and discussion of, issues over the years. And, her support of Barack Obama-early- is an indication of her wisdom, and good timing. Some say she’s not “experienced” enough. That’s what they said about Barack Obama. Caroline Kennedy would, in our estimation, be an outstanding choice to sit in the Senate, representing the State of New York. The struggle continues until we succeed-and we shall, Henry T. Wilfong Jr., MBA, CPA President, National Association of Small Disadvantaged Businesses (NASDB) Co-Chair Unity Network & Black Republicans for Obama (BRO)
