Mr. Steele is the better candidate.

I hope he will push the Republicans to demand independent investigations into the corruption of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and ACORNS involvement in this Sub-Prime mess. Handle it like we did with ENRON and WORLD COM. We need those responsible to be prosecuted and locked up! Get the enablers, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Chucky Schumer, Maxine Walters, and the others. Get to the bottom of ACORN’S involvement in Voter Fraud! We need a Full investigation into ACORN for voter fraud. Remove tax exempt status because it is a Democrat Party front group. Remove funding for ACORN from the Congressional Budgets! The Democrat party should fund their own political groups, not the American taxpayer Fight the Democrats in Congress for No more bail outs. We need to see where the first bail out money went. Get Social Security funded and clean up the mismanagement and fraud from Medicare before the Liberal Democrats mismanage Universal Health care to bail out healthcare costs from the states and auto companies. We are on the road to bankrupting the federal government just like we bankrupted ourselves with debt that we had no hope of repaying.

Good comments, HCY727. Here are some more ideas: * Move the primary dates up for the deep-red states. The reliably conservative states should have the most say-so in picking the president. No more New Hampshire somehow determining who our candidate is. * Enforce party discipline: campaign like a Reagan and then vote like a Kennedy? You're fired and no longer a Republican. Also, the party should defend the (Republican) president from attacks while he is in office and not just when campaigning. Letting your opponents slander you for 4 years straight ("It's Bush's fault!") while you are in office helps cost you the election before you even start. * Reach out to all Republican parents and put together a package to help them teach their children Conservative values. If we do not, the colleges will be making liberal voters out of Conservatives' children. (See last election for proof.) We don't have to reach the Democrats kids - we just have to reach our own. * Of course we should close the borders, support the military, support the 1st Amendment for religious speech, oppose abortion, etc. ....

Al-NYNY, you must have missed the congressional hearing where Barney Frank & other Democrats were punishing the (Republican) auditor for sounding the alarm back in 2005. Maybe you never knew where to go for news. Turn off CNN and check this out: www.foxnews.com www.rushlimbaugh.com I know that New Yorkers think that going to church makes you a "religious zealot", but it does not. Try it sometime and see!

And of coarse trying to jam liberal ideas down our throat is good AL-NYNY? Why is it that you can only see what the R's are doing?

So I wonder which is worse....a "religious zealot" or a stranger-to-the-truth dimocrat?

Question of the day

White House officials and Senate Democrats met in private three times last week to craft health care legislation. Do you think these discussions should be more public?
