Regarding needing various papers for different viewpoints:
The difference in stories by the Washington Post and the Baltimore Sun would be what, exactly? Maybe that one would give an even more liberal slant than the other?
Newspapers just might as well give up and get out of the way and let the internet bloggers give opinion all the time. We don’t need newspapers to do that.

Newspapers have abdicated their traditional ideals of at least trying t be objective. They don’t even try anymore. That is now deservedly coming back to haunt them.
