"The worst thing about 2008 was the economy." And Mr. Obama promises to drive us over the brink. Mr. Obama's socialist plans, building on the nationalization begun under Mr. Bush, only compound our long-term problem. The current D.E.B.T. program (D-umb E-conomic B-ull***t T-heory) guarantees disaster. When the "strength" of an economy is measured by increasing debt instead of wealth, the result is predictable. When Mr. Obama promises to "strengthen" the economy with a "stimulus" package which takes money we don't have and strews it across the land he is offering false hope and inevitable disaster.
"There will be sacrifice". Get ready, this will be the mother of all BOHICA'S. Increased (huge)taxes, double digit inflation and super high gas prices.
Why all the pessimism about the recession deepening and unemployment getting worse? We faced a recession when Bush took office and his actions kept the recession mild and short.
So why is it that everyone just plain expects that with Obama as President, things will get worse? Even Obama said he expects unemployment to exceed 10%? It sounds like Democrats are resigned to take the Jimmy Carter approach to recession - make it deep and wide while waiting for the next Reagan to save the day.
