90% of the public just do not get it--particularly those naive souls who thought that Obama was actually going to "change" society. Of course, in order to know that such could not be the case requires serious study of history, something very few college students even do anymore.
Heads up world! The Internet, for all its vaunted capabilities, particularly if we are to keep it free and available to anyone anywhere, is going to remain merely a virtual version of what is arrogantly referred to as "snail-mail." There is no magical, mysterious realm in which people can exchange messages and other information freely--without the ever-present danger of being viewed covertly, just like paper correspondence.
Unfortunately even the president-elect is not aware of the risks of using the Internet for really important public transactions. His idea of using it for organising political campaigns and other maneuvers is naive in the extreme. Those that oppose his views will ultimately find ways to hack into any publically available site, no matter how strong the security.
