Richardson knew all along he had legal problems but his selfishness would not allow him to do the right thing and not seek or accept any appointments. He is just another dishonest politician who now says he will be cleared when the smoke clears. If that is so why did he back out the job?

TyinPS

What did we expect? Obama tried to place a Republican on his team. There are a lot of ugly things about Richardson, many not well known, that will eventually come out.

dittoman

What a strange article. 85% Oprah style fluff about Obama and very little about the headline of the story. Richardson the DEMOCRAT being the target of an investigation is played off as ho hum news. What a double standard we have in the media. Had this been a Republican it would have been splashed all over the news amid calls for the scoundrel to resign and stories of the continuing Party of Corruption. disgusting

Subby

Again, another piece showing liberal bias creeping in at the Times of all places! WTF??

Just in case TyinPS cares, Richardson in a democrat. That's the party of Barney Frank, Al Franken, Nancy Pelosi, Hairball Reid, Hot Rod Blago, Jesse Jackson, Bubba Clinton, Chuckie Schumer, Chuckie Rangel, and many, many other unsavory, corrupt losers.

Mag7

Speaking of unsavory corrupt losers, how would Ms Palin be doing this fine morning as we now know her in-laws were in the 'pharmaceutical' business? Funny there was nothing on this website last month once it was announced Bristol’s step-mum was dealing meth and oxycontin, and today there’s nothing mentioning the investigation was stalled to wait out the presidential election. You folks cans bash Richardson all you want but you can’t top this. Who blocked the state police from doing their job?
