Who cares what they think, the Republican party will soon find that their Taliban is a luxury they can't afford.

You care what we think, if you didn't you would not have commented. We will write our people to contest this. A guy with that kind of stuff smeared all over him, agenda wise, should not be 2nd in command of the Justice Department. You will learn something over the next four years. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and we will squeak when it is necessary, very loudly

My fervent hope is that the GOP brings Americans like me back to their camp through a careful priority of the battles they choose. Republicans should draw up another contract with America, part II. In it, they should declare their human rights principles; their fiscal conservatism; their efforts to reduce government's reach, including its waste, fraud, and abuse; a restructured tax system; an end to importation of foreign workers under dubious visas; and a vow to give illegal aliens six months to leave this country. (If an alien is caught after that period, he or she will be fingerprinted and barred forever from successful application to become a U.S. citizen). Other concerns are here, of course, but they can wait till next year for resolutions. Now is the time to act. This means it's time the so-called leaders of the Republican Party call more press conferences to lay out these principles and to denounce the ongoing CORRUPTION of the Democrat Party. After all, it is the party that's been in control for two years, a party that has been masterful in shoving off all current problems as ones created by Republicans when in truth, the hands of Rangel, Dodd, Frank, Reid, et al. have been complicit in this foul leadership. This sham must end!

Squeaky wheels notwithstanding, Harvard grads in the Obama administration will take charge of the debates. Hopefully, intelligence will resound and the squeaky wheels will be heard appropriately

I do hope that Republicans go nuts once again over the Terry Schiavo issue. The American people roundly rejected Republican intervention in 2005 and this once again will show just how out of touch Republicans are with Americans.

NotFooledByDistractions

Once again and as expected, the right to lifers are working against the prevailing will of the people. The Terri Shaivo fiasco was a well earned embarrassment for the gop. Why do they find it so difficult to stay out of peoples personal lives?

NotfooledByDistractions, I believe it is called perception. why can't the left stay out of peoples lives when it comes to gay marriage, affirmative action, correct speach codes at universities, gun control, criminals having more rights then the one wronged by the criminal. I think both sides have their "busy body" ways. Just on different things. All based on your point of view. And neither you nor I have a dominent position on either.

It did not matter that he and his administration was incompetent. I blame the fundies for the mess we are in. The Republican party will never give you what you crave, they use it at election time to get you to the polls. We see the fruits of your efforts and prayers in the two wars and economic chaos now afflicting this country. I repeat who cares what you think, America has had enough of you.

I would have though that the Obama camapign/moveon.org checks to their bloggers would have run out by now and some of those folks -- with their cute "fundie" language and such -- would have had to find productive work and allow the discourse for the rest of us to remain at a more elevated plane. Perhaps the checks for this sort of work don't run out until Jan. 20?

As someone addicted to stealing music (more than 20,000 snappy tunes thus far), I too have to stand against this appointment. But I guess I'll have to say it's because I'm appalled that people would even think of legalizing suicide and that anal sex is destroying the moral fabric of our great nation.

Do you have any studies or information that these types of behavior are on the increase? With the problems facing our country I could care less about who is sleeping with whom.

Some people don't care what the American people think, if what they think is wrong. Forced euthanasia is wrong, no matter what the majority thinks. Homosexuality is wrong, no matter what the majority thinks. Abortion is wrong, no matter what the majority thinks. I care who is sleeping with whom (not specifically, but generally) because it degrades the moral integrity of our society. Monogomy is a glue, which holds our society together. Just look throughout history at the decline of great civilizations, and you will find sexual aberration in the middle of it. That said, if all the "pro-life" people had voted pro-life in the presidential election, we probably would not be having this discussion.

On the abortion issue, Obama says he favors a plan to reduce the number of abortions in our country. Well, in order to bring about this CHANGE, he needs to do something different than the way we have been doing things. Abortion is legal. By appointing the same pro-abortion people, no CHANGE will come about and 3,000+ humans will continue to die EVERY DAY in our country. It is outrageous and something that should not be happening in our country. Obama needs to come through on his promise to bring about CHANGE.

Can you give me some examples of great civilizations that declined because of sexual aberrance?

To use a favorite phrase of conservatives a couples of years back: ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES. Conservatives have been in charge for 8 years and 20 of the past 28. The American people have passed judgment and Barack Obama won by nearly 10 million votes and received more votes than any presidential candidate in American history. He is entitled to appoint qualified people who will carry through his agenda. That's the way it is. If you don't agree - tough.
