AREA MEN
NAVY 66, ELON 62: Adam Teague scored four of his 11 points during an 8-0 run in the final 1:33 to help the visiting Midshipmen to a comeback victory against the Phoenix on Monday night.
After Devan Carter’s layup put Elon ahead 62-58 with a little less than two minutes to play, Teague nailed a 3-pointer to start Navy’s run, hit a free throw with 14 seconds left to cap it and grabbed a rebound off Carter’s 3-point miss to seal the win.
Chris Harris led the Midshipmen (11-4) with 14 points, while Clif Colbert and Kaleo Kina scored 13 apiece.
Ola Atoyebi and Chris Long scored 14 points each to lead the Phoenix (4-6), and Brett James added 11.
Navy hit 13 of 18 free throws in the game, while Elon was 13-for-22 from the line.
AMERICAN 62, COLUMBIA 50: Garrison Carr hit seven 3-pointers on his way to scoring 23 points as the Eagles won their third consecutive game with a victory against the Lions at Bender Arena.
Carr was 7-for-9 from the 3-point line for the Eagles (8-6).
Up by six with 15 minutes left, the Eagles went on a 14-2 run, marked by Derrick Mercer’s pair of putbacks and a dish to Carr for the first of consecutive 3-pointers.
Carr’s shots gave American a 50-32 lead with 10 minutes left, and the Lions (4-9) never came closer than 11 the rest of the game.

NO. 6 OKLAHOMA 100, MD.-EASTERN SHORE 64: Blake Griffin had 20 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Sooners to a victory against the Hawks in Norman, Okla.
The Sooners (14-1) played without coach Jeff Capel, who was hospitalized with stomach flu. Assistant coach Mark Cline took over in his absence.
Griffin recorded his 12th double-double in 15 games and had four blocked shots in 22 minutes. Tony Crocker and Willie Warren both added 15 points as the Sooners finished their nonconference schedule with their best start since 1987-88.
