How much taxpayer money funded this "study"? What was the AMOUNT of calories taken in per day by the Chicago women compared to the African African women? What were their ages? The African African women maybe didn't wear shoes, this study would look at that as a factor I suspect if the shoes Chicago African American women wore were made from leather. How could anyone think that higher caloric intake and less exercise (caloric burn) would not make you fat?
It has always seemed to me that sensible exercise would be better for weight loss than most alternative activities. This sounds a little like a study to provide excuses for inactivity.
Ok, this article is rediculous... First off, if the two women do the same amount of work, or excercise, the fat American from Chicago WILL burn more caleries becasue she weighs more, that's a fact! So the article is really saysing that the Nigerian IS doing more physical activity. --You can't just look at calories buned--
Example is this... Athletes that are in excellent physical shape burn less calories than normal people, that do the same amount of work/excercise. (lower heart rate for the same physical exertion)
OK, now they need to study how all the hormones and food additives given to feed animals to make them gain weight fast is affecting human weight gain. Also, since half the population are on anti-depressants, I believe that also accounts for weight gain for many people.
