Shameful. The economy is suffering and the feds are bleeding red ink to the tune of $10 in debt and they writing checks to reward lack of performance. I guess thats' just the government way. I guess it never occurs to them that leadership is about setting an example.

This is the same border patrol chief that the rank and file agents voted a "no confidence" resolution in April 2007. Seems that if you have a high enough level job, no matter how badly you do it, you will be rewarded: "The leaders of the U.S. Border Patrol's rank-and-file agents have unanimously voted a no-confidence resolution against Chief David V. Aguilar, citing, among other things, his willingness to believe the "perjured allegations" of criminal aliens over his own agents. What Chief Aguilar and Congress has failed to do. Create a less expensive and more efficient solution. Establish a Border Patrol Auxiliary along the same lines as the Coast Guard Auxiliary. The Minuteman Project is very effective and cost efficient. However, since this solution does not evolve the government giving out huge contracts or gaining votes of public employee unions, it probably will not happen. You do not get a bonus for failure.
