What a hoot it would be if US oil companies that cannot drill off the coast of Florida drill just a few miles away thanks to the Cubans.
Of course the royalites would go to Cuba and not the US. But hey, perhaps in Cuba the government would pass the royalties onto the people. Call it the "Palin model" of oil royalty distribution by the state. That is, the state gives some of the royalty money directly to the citizens instead of letting the politicians spend it.
In the end, it will be the U.S. thats saves Cuba from itself.
