Since America is NOT energy independent and Obama and the Democrats say it will take at least 10 years to develop green technology we can't expect Russia to wait forever. Russia is building a strategic defense initiative with their energy resources and alliances and the U.S. is attempting to convert to an alternative, untested, immature energy environment to solve on a non deterministic consensus driven non scientifically proven politically driven problem. The Russians have control of the BTC pipeline with their forces remaining in Georgia and the natural gas going to Europe, they have political alliances with Iran, Venezuela and now Libya. They have made moves to agitate the Israel/Iran situation which will threaten the Straits of Hormuz if Israel pursues stopping Iran's nuclear ambitions and are on a confidence building mission with Venezuela and have promised them nuclear capability. The U.S. has a PLAN for green energy with congressional restrictions on developing any kind of carbon energy (no drilling, no tar sands which Canada is to sell oil back to the U.S. no oil shale development, and a promise to bankrupt the coal industry by Obama) to fuel a mature business/economic/food production environment. You tell me which strategy has the better possibility of being successful?
