If you look you will see that HS graduation rates are higher in the north than they are in the states with high birth rates. They are also more apt to teach inclusive sex education. The States with less unwanted pregnancies tend to also have more stringent child support laws - basically you play you pay. The Underground Guide to Teenage Sexuality These issues continue to impact US society due to politics trumping science, and our culture of selling sex, but avoiding talking about sex.
