No. 15 Virginia 77, Wake Forest 59: Monica Wright scored 20 points, and the Cavaliers rebounded from a sluggish start to beat the Demon Deacons on Sunday in Charlottesville.
Wright, who also had nine rebounds, scored seven points, and senior forward Lyndra Littles added eight of her 19 points for the Cavaliers (14-2, 1-0 ACC) during a 24-0 run in the final minutes of the game.
Camille Collier led the Demon Deacons (12-3, 0-2) with 25 points as she hit five 3-pointers. Collier scored 21 in the opening half as she hit eight of 12 shots from the field.
Boston College 73, Virginia Tech 62: Carolyn Swords scored 19 points and added 10 rebounds to lead the Eagles to their fourth win in a row, a victory over the Hokies in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Mickel Picco scored 18 points, and junior Ayla Brown added 10 points and four assists for Boston College.
The Eagles knocked down five of their first eight shots and jumped to a 11-4 advantage early in the first half.
Sophomore guard La-Shaunda Pratt scored a season-high nine points to boost the Eagles to their largest lead of the half at 34-19 with 3:19 to play.
Swords tallied nine points in the first four minutes of the second half, helping the Eagles to a 47-27 advantage.
The Eagles took their largest lead of 25 points with 6:44 to go in the game.
Towson 68, George Mason 47: Shanae Baker-Brice scored 20 points and added seven assists to lead the Tigers past the Patriots at Patriot Center.
Simona Petronyte scored 15 points, one shy of her career record, in the victory.
Katrina Wheeler added 11 points and 16 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season.
Brittany Poindexter scored 11 points and added six rebounds for the Patriots, and Brittney Wilkins had a team-high seven rebounds.
