As Mr. Duesler and the members of the Valley Club found out this week, there are no incentives in 21st-century America for racism, and there are fewer and fewer hiding places for bigotry’s last holdouts.

But it also shows that the American people are far better at meting out justice and delivering a punishment than charlatans like Mr. Jackson and Mr. Sharpton, or even groups like the NAACP. With President Obama in office, America has shown more than good faith that we are heading down the right road toward racial tolerance, and the universal public expression of support for the Creative Steps campers only underscores this point.
