The heart of President Obama’s proposal for health savings consists of an ideological reconceptualization and transformation of who in America is worthy of government health care dollars (“Better get sick now, not later,” Opinion, Friday). Mr. Obama wants to transfer government money from Medicare (i.e., current and future elderly) to the uninsured (i.e., minorities, immigrants and the young). It is an ideologically based decision about who is to live and who is to die.

To provide coverage for the uninsured, Mr. Obama seemingly is proposing to put seniors on an iceberg and send them out to sea. Baby boomers, are you listening?
