PHOENIX (AP) - The main suspect in the Phoenix area’s Serial Shooter attacks has been convicted of one murder but acquitted of two others.

Verdicts on five other killings in the case against Dale Hausner were moments away from being announced Friday. Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty and needed only one murder conviction to do so.

Hausner, a former janitor, is accused of attacking 20 other people, seven dogs and three horses.

Hausner denied any involvement in the attacks. Authorities say he shot at people from his car during 2005 and 2006 in a conspiracy that occasionally included his brother and a former roommate, Samuel Dieteman.
