Dennis Quaid is attached to play President Clinton, Julianne Moore to play first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and “Frost/Nixon” star Michael Sheen to portray British Prime Minister Tony Blair in “The Special Relationship,” a movie for HBO penned by “Frost/Nixon” writer Peter Morgan.

If given the go-ahead, Mr. Morgan will make his directorial debut with the film, which is about the political relationship between Mr. Clinton and Mr. Blair, the Hollywood Reporter notes.

It also would mark Mr. Sheen’s third portrayal of the former British prime minister. He played Mr. Blair in two Stephen Frears movies penned by Mr. Morgan: 2003’s “The Deal” and 2006’s “The Queen.”

Cook chides fanatics

Living the rock-star life has its perks, but reigning “American Idol” champ David Cook is having trouble giving up his privacy while on the road.

Mr. Cook took to his MySpace Celebrity blog to address fan behavior that he says has gone beyond the usual rules of celebrity access, TVGuide.com reports.

“The efforts by some fans to find our hotel rooms, call our hotel rooms, attach things to our bus, etc., is something I have to condemn,” Mr. Cook writes. “This relationship only works when it remains healthy for both parties, and should this behavior continue, the only thing we can do is take more preventative measures to maintain our privacy, which in turn makes us less accessible to you.”

Mr. Cook - who performs at the Towson Center Arena in Towson, Md., April 3 - says he and his band love spending time with fans but “do enjoy what little privacy we can muster.” Still, he doesn’t want to leave a bad taste in the mouths of the fans who voted him to stardom on “Idol.”

“I hope this doesn’t come off as harsh,” he writes. “I merely want to nip this in the bud so we can continue to have a great experience with all of you at the shows we have coming up.”

Lynch on the Web

Filmmaker David Lynch (“Blue Velvet,” “Twin Peaks,” “Mulholland Drive,” “Inland Empire”) on Wednesday launched his new online TV channel, David Lynch Foundation Television (DLF.TV).

DLF.TV is the production wing of the David Lynch Foundation, which was founded by the iconic auteur to teach at-risk youth to meditate and to give them the tools to overcome stress and violence in their lives.

The first DLF.TV webcast is scheduled for April 4 from New York’s Radio City Music Hall during an exclusive backstage webcast of the “Change Begins Within” benefit concert. The webcast will start at 6:30 p.m. on DLF.TV and will use BitGravity’s BG Live highly scalable flash-based video-stream service.

Paul McCartney will headline the concert along with special guests Ringo Starr, Eddie Vedder, Donovan, Sheryl Crow, Ben Harper, Moby, Paul Horn, Bettye LaVette and Jim James. The concert will raise funds to teach 1 million children to meditate - “giving them the tools to overcome stress and violence and grow in happiness and peace in their lives,” Mr. Lynch said.
