Brookfield Homes Corp. is building 156 single-family homes in three collections at Saranac, a gated community with nature trails, lakefront areas, campgrounds, picnic areas and plans for a swimming pool in Lake Manassas.

Each home in this Prince William County community will include an Adirondack-style exterior with maintenance-free vinyl siding, arts-and-crafts-style lamps and professional landscaping. A two-car garage is included on some homes.

Inside, all 12 models feature three to five bedrooms, 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 baths, oak stairs, hardwood floors, 9- or 10-foot ceilings, crown moldings, oak or birch cabinets and granite counters in the center-island kitchen, ceramic tile floors, a high-tech wiring system, a rough-in for a lower-level bath, and gas heat.

The homes have from 1,238 to 3,642 finished square feet, with base prices from $405,990 to $714,990. Homeowner association fees are $200 per month.

The Colden model, with 3,473 square feet, is priced from $704,990. This home features an open foyer with columns defining the formal living room and formal dining room.

The main level also has a study, a half bath, a center-island kitchen, a morning room and a family room with a fireplace. Nearby are a family foyer with closets and a bench plus a storage room, which can be converted to a hobby room or laundry room.

Upstairs, the master suite has a tray ceiling, two walk-in closets and a luxury bath. The second and third bedrooms share a full bath. A fourth bedroom with a bath and a laundry room complete this level.
